Scottie Scheffler can complete the Grand Slam this weekend, and while he finished second a few times this year and has not won since January. This would make him the 6th player to complete the Slam after McIlroy won the Masters.

It seems like Koepka is not close to the Tour player he used to be. He won the Open on this course though.

Golf's third major begins on Thursday, June 18 as the 2026 U.S. Open heads to Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York. J.J. Spaun is the defending U.S. Open champion, and Rory McIlroy (Masters) and Aaron Rai (PGA Championship) have claimed the first two majors this year.

Scottie Scheffler, who is looking for his first win since January despite several close calls, is the early +550 favorite in the 2026 U.S. Open odds via FanDuel Sportsbook. McIlroy (+1200), Jon Rahm (+1300) round out the list of the top-three favorites. Spaun is at +6000 as he attempts to become the first golfer since Brooks Koepka (2017-18) to win this major in back-to-back years. Koepka, who is a +4500 longshot this year, also won the U.S. Open the last time it was at Shinnecock Hills in 2018.

Shinnecock Hills is crazy hard and the wind is going to be blowing big time. It could favor low ball hitters like Fleetwood, Henley and Harmon. Even par could win it!

exactly. the longest driving studs don't necessarily have an advantagem at Shinnecock

I saw a picture today and there were no trees anywhere in the picture. I think they will be blowing 40 mph and gusting who knows. Matt Fitzpatrick was getting a lot of buzz, as was Xander. I will keep an eye on those two, as well as Rahm and Scottie.
