The truth on the Renee Good shooting lies in the middle

Sorry, maybe I Need to be more specific?
I'm asking if you agree with the following policy:
the vehicle is operated in a manner that threatens to cause death or serious physical injury to the officer or others, and no other objectively reasonable means of defense appear to exist, which includes moving out of the path of the vehicle.

I'm sorry if this question scares you in any way.
Sorry, maybe your gun grabbing fetish is a pathology. An objectively reasonable means of self defense against a mentally ill person aiming an accelerating vehicle at you is to neutralize the threat. This was CQB for the officer. Options were limited.

Taking a step back was beyond his mental capacity?!

Taking a step back allows the vehicle to speed up. Your cheering for the driver is kinda’ creepy but expected.

I trust the American justice system and believe a court in Minneapolis will clarify the circumstances and reach a fair outcome. Whether it was self-defense or not, a judge will decide.

HEY TRUMPSTERS:

The moment of the shooting happens at the very beginning of this clip.

Trump says the shooter had been injured and sent to the hospital.

You people keep saying he was hit. Run over.

Please tell me at what point in this video the shooter was hit:

HEY LEFTIST GROUPIE:

There are other video clips showing the officer was hit, including his bodycam.

The system is fine, the people are a little weird though. :p

Federal case. Could be anywhere. I doubt it'll be Portland though.

Whether it was self-defense or not, a judge will decide.

There won't be a trial. There won't be charges. There could be a civil case though

The vehicle begins to move forward and to the right at :09.

When is the shooter hit?

Not as far as I can see. I'm not familiar with your laws, but in Germany, a police officer isn't allowed to shoot in that situation. The question is, what did the man prevent by firing the shot? Here, you're not allowed to shoot to prevent someone from escaping, simply to avert danger to life and limb. Is what constitutes self-defense uniformly regulated across the entire US?

No. This was illegal, clearly. But America is a different place right now. The driver is being called a "domestic terrorist" by top people in the administration, and even our President, Vice President, and Secretary of Homeland Security said he was hit and taken to the hospital.

They know better.

America is very sick right now.

I read that Trump said that. But he's not a court or a judge.

Right now I'm afraid it doesn't matter. Our FBI and Justice Department are run by Trump loyalists, and they'll do whatever it takes to change the facts of this incident, even when it includes lying to our face, even when video of the incident is everywhere.

Our situation is very difficult to describe. Since you're in Germany, I can tell you that we're seeing many parallels to Europe's past. It's as if we're getting a modern-day history lesson. Now we know the answer to the question, "how did they let this happen?"

Isn't it the responsibility of the local court in Minneapolis to bring charges and decide on the case? I read about the restructuring of the FBI. It sounds rather gruesome and doesn't exactly suggest an intention to create an independent judiciary.

We saw those parallels with the last administration. You bypassed domestic terrorist and went straight to insurrectionist. That is coming at some point.

No, there is no attempt here for the FBI to be independent. Yes, it is supposed to be. The same is true for the DOJ.

Now that the FBI has taken over the case and kept the state of Minnesota out of it, it is federal. It was going to be federal anyway, because ICE is involved. But the FBI won't share its "evidence" with any state or local authorities.

Seriously, this stuff is difficult to even write. I know you're used to a much different America, and so are we. But we're in real trouble right now. This is literally an authoritarian situation, where rules, norms and laws are being ignored and the people are being given an alternate reality.

He has no concept of the law. It's like arguing with someone in a high chair. :icon_rolleyes:

Well, that just might be the ICE officer's weakest area of defense? Was he seriously hurt? The thing is, did this woman act to give this guy fear that his life or health might be in danger? Obviously yes. He is lucky to have seen her coming and gotten out of her way in time and not slipped and fallen under her wheels as he fell back and fired in self-defense.

Yes, children, guns actually kill and these were licensed, armed, federal agents who deal with deadly people all day long. Not everyone invading our country and our borders under hapless Joe Biden were coming here because they were our friends, and now it has grown to monstrous proportions to where this country is beginning to drown in aliens from outside who have no interest in melting into our culture, society, or even legal system.

But understand, these are leftists. Leftists do not see life from a reality point of view and forging yourself to fit into the demands of reality, leftists see life from an ideological perspective, and their ideology comes first, that is their reality, and they hope to change reality to fit their ideas.
