Lets start with the big lie, Socialism means the workers own the means of production.
The state owns and controls all aspects of production not the people. The people own nothing. They cant vote its not a democracy and have no power at all. Everyone cant own the means of production thats impossible in a socialist model.

The result is oppression, poverty, no social mobility, 2 class society the rich and the poor, shortages of everything, low quality, and zero innovation. Look at Cub Russia North Korea, Venezuela as examples.

The only way a worker can own equity in a company i in America by buying stock. Many American companies are owned by their workers. You can own stock in any company and share the profits.

Socialism is a lie

How does socialism help people it oppresses them
The US was Socialist during WWII

Govt took control of business telling them what to make, what supplies they could have, who they could hire, what they could charge

Negative.

The .gov had contracts where they laid out what they wanted and they fuckin' well expected results.

Take Colt, they produced a plain Jane parkerized/plastic gripped Colt Official Police model for the .mil (called the Commando) from '41-'43.

Colt went to the .gov and told them that they were neglecting their PD contracts as they wanted a better finished COP revolver.

The .gov said fine, go ahead and produce the better finished revolver but they would all be sent to a arsenal (most went to Raritan) and they would be given out to PDs from there unless the .mil needed them.

That worked fine from late '43 till Colt's contract ended.

Here is one of the Colt Official Police revolvers made during the war but sporting the better finish and walnut stocks.

Under our current system, anyone who is intelligent enough, motivated enough, and responsible enough can enjoy a middle class life.

For those who aren’t, they get subsidized housing, food stamps, and free medical care.

Seems to be a nice balance.

Maybe not pure socialism but far from capitalism

They have socialism and democracy in Scandinavia... they are just fine.

The obvious thing is you can't have a pure version of Capitalism or Socialism. China is more Capitalist than we like to admit, and America is more socialist than we like to admit.

Um, right. So why are you so bitter?

The reality is, the Capitalist system only really benefits the top 10%.

The rest of us are one illness away from bankruptcy.

They do not it is capitalist. China is 100% communist and its economy is in serious trouble. Sweden Denmark and Norway are capitalist not socialist.

Your second paragraph has some truth.
