The threat being made against our religious liberties

When "Christians" start bitching about religious liberties they are usually bitching that Americans are allowed to push back against their narrow political agenda.

Think of everything "Christians" would ban tomorrow if they had their way. Their PG 13 vision of what the world should be like is as realistic as a Hallmark channel movie and almost entirely unconstitutional.

Christophobic bigot.

Like what? Child pornography maybe? Is the world a better place for that?

Don't be ridiculous. Just to be able to buy booze on Sunday or anywhere was a hard-fought battle across the South. Practically everything adults do for fun is heavily taxed and regulated for no other reason than "Christian" types demand there be some kind of legal or financial disincentive to sin.

You're not living in 2021?
So you feel it would be ridiculous to end child pornography? You probably want prostitution legalized because it's such a healthy, wholesome activity. I mean, doesn't everyone want their kid to grow up and become a prostitute?
You're mad because cigarettes are heavily taxed? It's not a "sin" tax. Tobacco and alcohol related health issues are a big cost to the nation, not to mention the drunk driving accidents and fatalities.
So just how are Christians spoiling your fun?

Conservative Christians – fundamentalists and the like, yes.

The authoritarianism of the Christian right is infamous; if given the power they would indeed create a Christian totalitarian state.

Hilarious. The only people trying to create a totalitarian state is the left.

It's ridiculous that you constructed a strawman like that. There has never been any child porn advocates in America. At least pick something that had some real political fighting on both sides of the issue.

On this topic I am making the case that Christians are fond of trying to legally ban sin, constitution be damned. Do you disagree?

You can't do it without creating your strawmen as well, but I digress.

Your fear of Christianity is noted. Do you feel that YOUR version of America shouldn't allow Christian's space to live and practice their religion in Peace ????? The Christian's are the same in America as they always were, but it's the left that is attempting to back them into a corner, and not the other way around. Until the streets are made completely Godless by the left, then the leftist war will continue to attempt to gain more and more ground.

The callous nature and bigoted politics of today's right wing "Christians" has done more to drive people away from religion than any militant atheist could ever hope to accomplish. It's why I left after practically being raised in church. It wasn't liberal indoctrination, it was "Christians" rationalizing their way out of doing what Jesus told them to do.

This is a free country and the great thing about it there are 50 states with different laws. If you don't like one place you can move to another.

The House has passed the Equality Act, which would amend the 1964 Civil Rights Act to protect people from being discriminated based on sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, housing and other services as well as access to public accommodations such as restaurants.

The final vote was 224-206.
Three Republicans joined Democrats in voting for the bill. Reps. John Katko, Tom Reed, and Brian Fitzpatrick voted with Democrats on this vote, and did so when the legislation passed in the House in 2019 as well. When the bill passed the House floor in 2019, eight Republicans joined Democrats to vote for the legislation.

- time for another terrorist filibuster.
