The Stock Market Was Overdue for a Correction

Since when do Liberals care about the Stock Market? Isn’t the stock market for wealthy people only? You people were going to elect a President who campaigned on taxing unrealized capital gains? That would have had people running to the sidelines with their cash. The outcome the candidate (Harris) was selling the American people was that it would be more fair and equitable. What money would there be to redistribute if the cost of investing in stocks exceeded the return?
I guess it started under George W. Bush when he didn't put social security into a "lock box", and it looked like social security would be going bankrupt, and people would have to rely on something else for retirement.
Like a 401-K, Keough, TSP. Along with their employers retirement accounts.

All got tied to the stock market

They don’t give two shits about Capital Markets. They only care about GET TRUMP and class warfare.
Actually it's about looking out for themselves.
Looking out for their health
Looking out for their economics
Looking out for their future.

Trump has nations rethinking fucking us with tariffs.

So thank you, Donald Trump.

"Along with their employers retirement accounts."

Since you listed things like 401Ks sperately (which are employer sponsored retirement accounts) and say "along with" that means in addition to.

Only 15% of the private workforce have access to employer defined benefit plans according to the BLS.

Well a retirement account of mine has lost 11,000 dollars in six days and all attributable to republican sycophancy and our new dictator in chief, at least I wasn't one of the lemmings who voted for this.

I fully expect a lot of insider trading to be taking place amongst the cabinet if not the republican party proper, being able to suppress the market as and when one chooses to is a license to print money.

Trump decides what he wants when he wants and no doubt sold stock before "liberation" day and is buying it back again now that price has fallen.

Of course such insider trading is now not illegal or at least not prosecutable when it's the president doing it, what a sad mess this is turning out to be.

The markets get millions every week when people put their retirement money into their Roth or 401K. Hard to see how it won't rebound.

we're all gonna take a hit - but we aren't the ones who thought it wasn't gonna affect. stupid trogs thought they were in on it & it was other people that were gonna hurt. they are gonna be feeling the pain soon enough.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

No Limit on Number of Accounts:

There's no rule against having multiple 401(k) accounts, which can occur when you switch employers or have a Solo 401(k) in addition to a 401(k) from a W-2 employer.

This wasn’t a correction, it was a straight reaction to Trump‘s horrible tariff policy
Horseshit.

Investors only react to profits.

The tariffs are doing exactly what they were intended to do. They're moving money out of stocks and into bonds, which includes Treasury bonds.

Do you two have any idea how the market works and why?
