The Senate reconciliation bill is likely to add $3.5 to $4.2 trillion to the debt

You've got in wrong. Biden racked up 8 trillion dollars worth of debt in four years. This is 4 trillion dollars in debt over 10 years.
His first year, he spent8.18T. FOURTY PERCENT OF THE debt was him.
yeah, in ONE bill, in his FIRST year back.

This sounds like someone bragging because their method of murder got quicker results--dead is still dead, stretching the suffering out does nothing.

The current version of the "Big Beautiful Bill" now stands to add considerably more debt than the original House bill that was passed. The Republicans for years have screamed about out of control spending. Trump repeatedly criticized Obama for the amount of debt added during his administration.

Does MAGA support adding another $4 trillion in debt for their children and grandchildren to pay off?

IMHO, it's still too much spending. I don't care what Biden did, that's history and doesn't make this BBB spending acceptable.

There were a handful of parliamentarian opinions in the Senate about the Byrd Rule that would prohibit some matters from being included in a reconciliation bill that could alter it further.

Interested to see how that turns out. Maybe some spending will get thrown out, which in turn could mean the BBB doesn't get passed if some senators get their own ox gored.

Which is still unacceptable. The US needs to start living within its means like most fiscally responsible adults do in their personal lives. Continually rising debt is a losing proposition.
But you can't quit cold turkey because that would bring on a recession.

I didn't suggest we quit spending--that is impossible. Just quit spending more than we take in. If expenditures are more than income, they need to be pared back or eliminated and payment on debt principal should be a budget item. Would you only pay the minimum payment on your credit card in your personal finances? Of course not because you would be wasting all that money on interest and your debt would increase each month.

I'm not MAGA and I certainly don't support the addition of debt.

This is Trump's BIG FAILING POINT.

And when has their spending ever been offset in your lifetime?
The last three years of Clinton there was a surplus.

And we were projected to pay off the debt accordording to the CBO.

Then came supermoron:

The question is.........and I think you might agree-------------->not what it adds to the debt, but to pay for it, what we can subtract from the expenditures.

If American taxpayers are paying 100 billion for illegals, then STOP paying that as an outlay, and move it to the revenue side.

I do not want to lose money. BUT, to pay for illegals, is 100% against what Americans want, and polls show it is so.

If we lose money from other expenditures, then it is up to the senate to choose which ones to cut. If they IGNORE the question, any senator who does, should be REMOVED post/haste, regardless if a GOPer, or a Democrat.

Or foreign aid, or any kind of social program. If you're drowning in debt as the US clearly is, you cannot provide charity. It is tantamount to a welfare recipient going into debt to give to a charity.

And what did the Progs do the last 4 years. You guys were rioting and destroying properties over DOGE. To get to a balance budget surgical cuts must be made. And the Progs are not going for it. Their answer is tax the rich. At every level of government. You tax them more, yet it is a pittance to the deficits anyway. When you come to power again at the federal level raise the taxes on rich people and corporations to 90%. You talk it, now do it.
and they will kill jobs and salaries. they are a too stupid to govern.

Cutting spending isn't very effective at lowering debt when you cut taxes far more.
The same can be said when you raise spending faster than you grow income

Something that Washingtonians do every year

Modest tax cuts often times result in modest increases in tax revenue

But congress raises spending even more

Tax cuts don’t pay for themselves. This is a fantasy you’ve been sold, but it’s just not true.
