The current version of the "Big Beautiful Bill" now stands to add considerably more debt than the original House bill that was passed. The Republicans for years have screamed about out of control spending. Trump repeatedly criticized Obama for the amount of debt added during his administration.

Tax breaks are sunset, like SALT. The 2017 tax cuts are permanent. CBO estimates are never accurate.

CBO estimates add to current law. If the current law projects a deficit of $1 trillion for 2026, this bill would make it $1.5 trillion.

Republicans shouldn’t be taken seriously when they talk about the debt.

How much of the BBB is just the extension of the Trump tax cuts? And how much has been added on? If those tax cuts are not extended then we all will pay more in taxes starting next January and a recession is very likely. Throw in the higher tariffs if they're still around and a recession becomes even more probable. So, then the question is what will be the national debt be if the tax cuts are not extended? More gov't revenue, right? But is that really a good thing if investments dry up and the economy tanks? I can see it coming, QE2.0, or is it 3.0 and on a much larger scale. Congress passes large helicopter money giveaway programs and inflation inevitably rises but economic growth does not. I think Stagflation is in our future and the only question is when not if.

Maybe it doesn't matter if the BBB is passed and the tax cuts are extended or not. Either way we're fucked. It's only a question of when.

Biden had a debt over his first 3 years of a little over 6 trillion dollars, not counting his last fiscal year, which averages out to around 2 trillion dollars per year, which would be about 8 trillion over a 4 year period. The projected 4 trillion BBB debt is for a 10 year period, which is a very huge decrease over Biden's 8 trillion over just 4 years. The left don't like to come clean about that.
