The Senate reconciliation bill is likely to add $3.5 to $4.2 trillion to the debt

Oh noes, a bill that adds to the debt.

DEMOCRATS HAVE NEVER VOTED FOR ONE OF THOSE BEFORE! 🤡

GTFO
A few months ago , the Trump administration said that the debt was an existential threat to the country.

Now they’re adding trillions and trillions.

But expecting you guys to remember anything that happened more than a few news cycles ago is basically impossible.

Trump wants the debt limit eliminated which doesn't sound very conservative.

Cutting spending isn't very effective at lowering debt when you cut taxes far more.
We should be cutting spending across the board and raising taxes across the board. It is just political stupidity. I hate what the two parties are doing to Americans.

Tax cuts don’t pay for themselves. This is a fantasy you’ve been sold, but it’s just not true.
The historical record says otherwise

The US takes in more tax revenue now than when trump took office in his first term

If Trump hadn’t cut taxes when he took office in his first term, would revenues be higher now?

Thats speculative

The cold fact is that tax money coming in went up after the Trump tax cuts

Sure. That’s a fact. Why did they go up?

Because money in private hands is more productive than when government is making the spending decisions
Speculative. Opinion.

Not a fact.

Believing tax cuts pay for themselves is wishful thinking. It’s like a person believing they won’t get fat eating a pizza because they walk to the pizza parlor. Thats just what people tell themselves because all they really want is to eat pizza and ignore the consequences.

Don't get confused between budget deficit and CBO 10-year projections.
CBO "projects" that the BBB will have a $330b deficit this year, x10 = $3.3T
Biden's last budget had a $2T deficit. The BBB cuts $1.7T off of that.

But if the CBO estimate is wrong the deficit will be smaller.
Tariffs will gain revenue
DOGE savings will gain revenue
Rescissions will gain revenue
Fed rate cuts will save interest costs
GDP growth more than 1.8% will gain revenue

So the actual deficit should be smaller than CBO states. Plus next year we get to do this Budget thing all over again...

No. It adds to that.

You don’t understand how CBO issues their estimates.

It’s even worse when you think about the sunsetting provisions.

The no taxes on tips and overtime lasts a few years. Do you think that these are actually going to sunset? Or will they renew them?

You asked for my opinion and I gave it to you

I repeat,

The cold Fact is that tax money coming in went up after the Trump tax cuts

With the ridiculous War Department budget being off limits, we`re wasting our time cutting nickels and dimes. Neither Canada nor Mexico are a threat to our security. We`ve spent 23 years and $3 trillion dollars looking for WMDs in Iraq that we KNEW didn`t exist.

We should treat spending in every sector of the budget EXACTLY the same
