Socialism, especially what you'd call it, works all over the damn world. It even works here Grow up, please, and get past the dogma Socialism = Bad.
Socialism works?
Explain how it works in spite of killing 149 million people since 1918.

Save the dogma. Stick with Sweden, not the USSR.
You should read the thread in Europe and see what a citizen from Sweden says about it falling apart and our President wants to do the same thing to us.
And Sweden's cost of health care as a percent of their GDP has gone up.

Compared to?
Of Which nearly $1 trillion is totally wasted all because of lawyers!
FACTS as doctors who attest to this:
http://www.jacksonhealthcare.com/media/8968/defensivemedicine_ebook_final.pdf
90% of physicians surveyed say they order $850 billion a year in wasted duplicate tests, referrals all out of FEAR of being SUED!
--- Emergency medicine, primary care, and OB/GYN physicians are most likely to practice defensive medicine.
--- 79 to 83% of surgeons and OB/GYNs have been named in lawsuits.
"Physicians contracted by the federal government practice significantly less defensive medicine as they are protected against lawsuits by the
1946 Federal Tort Claims Act. "
-- BUT........Only 48% practice defensive medicine compared to 92% of non-government physicians.
Consider that fact that of the physicians interviewed 52% DID NOT practice defensive medicine!
Who were they? Doctors contracted by federal government!
WHY did these doctors NOT practice "defensive medicine"???
1946 Tort reform!
The insurance companies don't care as they simple raise the premiums.
If lawyers' $270 BILLION a year income was taxed 10% as ACA taxes tanning salons,
that $27 billion would provide $5,000 premium for each of the less then 4 million true Americans that want and need insurance.
Simple fact.
But you've NEVER refuted this why? Are you a lawyer?
Tell me as an "expert" that these physicians are wrong. Remember they practice daily and experience frequently hints of lawsuits, actual lawsuits and
as a result they simply say aw hell.. let's just order duplicate tests... insurance companies will pay it!
A new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine this week reports that one in 14 doctors faces a malpractice suit every year.
Total Professionally Active Physicians
in 2015 there were 905,061 physicians. This means 64,000 doctors face a malpractice suit.
It costs money for a lawyer. It costs time away from practice.
According to the most recently-available statistics, about 95 percent of pending lawsuits end in a pre-trial settlement. This means that just one in 20 personal injury cases is resolved in a court of law by a judge or jury.

Do you understand what this means to healthcare costs? Look at Sweden.
Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and New Zealand have used no-fault malpractice systems for 20 to 30 years, with admittedly mixed results. Yet several academics, most notably Harvard's David Studdert and Troyen Brennan, have studied these countries' systems and concluded that a U.S. system modeled on that of Sweden could more consistently compensate victims of avoidable mishaps and more effectively reduce error and incompetence—all for the same cost. No-fault would also make doctors and patients allies rather than adversaries when something goes awry.
In Sweden, when a patient suffers avoidable injury, whether through gross negligence, such as a botched surgery, or through a more understandable but avoidable mistake, such as a misdiagnosis or medication error, the patient—usually with help from the doctor's office—fills out a form requesting compensation.
Do the Swedes have a faultless fix?
Simple Tort reform would save 20 to 40% of this nearly $1 trillion defensive medicine practice!
Translates into lower claims submitted to insurance companies which means under state regulations premiums would DROP!
Health care premiums would drop! Saving billions of dollars to employers and Americans alike.
Simple tort reform!
