Democrat Socialism Based On A Lie

I have always thought that the basic lie of socialism is that if we have equal outcomes then we'll all be happy as hell and there will be no consequences. To each according to their needs and from each according to their abilities. Except of course that human nature does not work that way, some people believe that for whatever reason they deserve more than another person, and some people believe for whatever reait son they shouldn't have to work at all. And the idea that equal outcomes will change that is pure fiction. Greed and corruption will not disappear at all. I think there will be less of it because there will be less economic growth/wealth created.
Damn it, it has never been about equal outcomes. It has always been about equal opportunities, and if you can't see that, then pull your head out of your ass.

I will just be opining on the title of the OP. Democratic Socialism, while sounding all nice and fluffy, is actually a lie. While true that it might get the majority to fall for adopting Socialism, once in power, a Socialist government ends Democracy by stifling all political opposition, even to the point of imprisonment and even worse, death squads. Once any and all voices of opposition are removed, you've ended actual Democracy.
For those that like to point so the Scandinavian nations, they are in fact, per their own foreign ministers, "free-market Capitalist countries with "some" social programs. To pay for those social programs, they tax the middle-class more than the wealthy. They claim that the reason for not taking the wealthy as heavily is because it is felt that it would stifle innovation. They just looked at Communist and hardcore Socialist nations and see that they end up "stealing" technology from the west and changing it to their needs, rather than their own innovation. The Scandinavian nations also allow political opposition to exist and a problem has cropped up in their social program nirvana, all of the massive numbers of Islamic migrants pouring into their regions, are devastating their social programs for the people already there. Eventually, they will run out of everybody's money.
You can opine on any aspect of the post that you wish. I love the interactioin, and the discussion.
That's the value of a message board.

And, of course, you are correct about Scandanavia.

“Speaking at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, Danish PM Lars Løkke Rasmussen told students that he had “absolutely no wish to interfere the presidential debate in the US” but nonetheless attempted to set the record straight about his country.

"I know that some people in the US associate the Nordic model with some sort of socialism. Therefore I would like to make one thing clear. Denmark is far from a socialist planned economy. Denmark is a market economy,” Rasmussen said.

“The Nordic model is an expanded welfare state which provides a high level of security for its citizens, but it is also a successful market economy with much freedom to pursue your dreams and live your life as you wish,” he added.

The PM’s comments come after US presidential hopefuls Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton used part of the first Democratic debate to discuss how the United States could emulate Scandinavia.” Danish PM in US: Denmark is not socialist

Capitalism makes countries wealthy…..socialism redistributes wealth, shutting down industry in the process.

“The Left’s concept of materialism broadens into the overarching desire to see every individual materially equal. The Left is less interested in creating wealth than in distributing it, and has been far more interested in fighting material inequality than tyranny, which is why Lenin, Mao, Pol Pot, Ho Chi Minh, Castro, etc., tend to have the support of Leftists around the world.” Dennis Prager

Nordic countries have high levels of social services, but this is paid for by exorbitant tax rates. Denmark has a 63% tax rate, plus a 25% sales tax.

And….a 5.5% decline in GDP in the decade.

“From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs” is a slogan that Karl Marx popularized in his 1875 work Critique of the Gotha Programme.

Interesting that the guiding light behind communism, socialism, Leftism of every variety.......worshipped the Devil.

The Left, Communists, Nazis, Democrats, follow what Karl Marx preached.

More that interesting is that Marx worshipped the Devil.

Marx wrote poetry, and in one, "The Fiddler," we find

"Why do I fiddle? Or the wild waves roar?

That they might pound the rocky shore,

That eye be blinded, that bosom swell,

That Soul's cry carry down to Hell."

"Fiddler, with scorn you rend your heart.

A radiant God lent you your art,

To dazzle with waves of melody,

To soar to the star-dance in the sky."

"How so! I plunge, plunge without fail

My blood-black sabre into your soul.

That art God neither wants nor wists,

It leaps to the brain from Hell's black mists.

"Till heart's bewitched, till senses reel:

With Satan I have struck my deal.

He chalks the signs, beats time for me,

I play the death march fast and free.

There is no way to separate communism, socialism, Progressivism, the Democrat Party, and, therefore, no way to ignore their ties to Satan.

It's always interesting to see Communists preaching in non-Communist countries, that "Communism ends class divisions." It does, it ends the rich, the middle class and you end up with all but their inner-sanctum, dirt poor. A perfect example of pure Communism is North Korea. Only its inner-sanctum politburo really has anything. Venezuela is another example. As for China, it is allowing some wealth and middle-class as it has strayed from Communism's purest form. That said, everyone MUST abide by any and all of its tenets or end up in prison. Those who publicly object to living under its rule is gathered up, sent to a re-education camp and if still reluctant to go along with their policies, sent to prison where they simply disappear and most probably killed and dumped in mass graves.

Fuck you you overwieght fat ass slop, Eat another bon-bon, then go make your sugar daddy supper.
Ahhh, Winston. Another pasty-ass white kid living in mommy's basement relying on her to support him in his sloth, praying that Communism will elevate him, only to eventually find out that under Communism, if he doesn't get off his lazy ass, his Communist overlords don't allow lazy or fringe people and will put him to work at the point of a bayonet.

Fuck you you overwieght fat ass slop, Eat another bon-bon, then go make your sugar daddy supper.
Try to remember that you are not speaking to your family here.

Use adult language, not the terms you were brought up with.

But, I am pleased to have gotten under your scales.

First, Communism, in it's purest form is simply, "Take what you need, give what you can". There are a lot of problems. Communism is called a "command economy", the government commands what is to be produced and what prices are to be charged. That is not effective. A free market is much more efficient, problem is, no one knows what a free market is supposed to be free of, and no, it is not government interference.

Socialism is different. Socialism is when the government owns the means of production. We have plenty of examples of Socialism in the United States. North Dakota comes to mind. North Dakota mills and the North Dakota state bank. Law enforcement, fire protection.

There, that is what is like to have "free enterprise" responsible for fire protection, law enforcement is no different.

You're introducting nuance and complexity into a conversation with Trumpsters.

All they know is Good vs. Evil. And they figure they're the good, by the way. That's as nuanced as they get. That's it.

They have their own set of definitions for words, so there's really no way of knowing what they're talking about.

Noting that Karl Marx, the instigator of all Leftist ideologies....including what the Democats of today, is in fealty to the Devil.....it explains why they don't support human life.
In fact, we see proof all around that they aren't on our side.

The always back the criminal....as in Saint George Floyd......and this:

"In the year 2020, under Mayor de Blasio, these trends reached a terrifying crescendo. That was when the state legislature in Albany launched its disastrous experiment with bail “reform,” eliminating cash bail and removing judges’ discretion in detaining criminal suspects. As if that weren’t enough to hinder law enforcers, the activist chorus to #Defund police grew louder.

De Blasio and his police executives didn’t know how to handle it. Even at the height of the Floyd reckoning, overwhelming majorities of African-Americans indicated they wanted the same or even higher levels of policing in their neighbourhoods. But instead of taking a holistic view of what the public wanted and balancing competing demands, the de Blasio administration folded to the loudest activists. Hizzoner permitted rioting, property destruction, and assaults on police officers. Mass police retirements occurred nationwide and in Gotham. Police morale sank — and remains low: applicants to the NYPD sank to 8,000 this year, down from 18,000 in 2017."

.....for those who accept abortion as intentional killing (it clearly is, but the debate is over what is actually being killed), an additional 30 million or more cases in the United States alone could be added to the number of irreligious killings (the estimate for the total number of abortions worldwide over the last century is approximately one billion). 7

So to everyone familiar with the Bible's instructions for human conduct, it is obvious which actions throughout history have been truly representative of God and the Bible, and which have not. Any murder in the name of Christ is wrong. But as we have seen, the greatest acts of crime and killing have not been instigated by people professing to follow Jesus. The numbers:

  • Judaism and Christianity throughout history: 17,000,000
  • Anti- or irreligious forces over the last 100 years:
6,000,000 + 9,000,000 + 40,000,000 + 24,000,000 + 25,000,000 + 22,000,000 + 2,000,000 + 1,000,000,000 = 1,128,000,000

Remember, Karl Marx worshipped Satan.

Socialism has many flaws but the most glaring is that it does not take into account human nature. Human beings invariably differ in their capacity for submissiveness, their ambition, their work ethic, their sense of justice, their ability/aptitude/intuition/insights etc. etc. etc. are all critical.

Bottom line, he who receives without working for it has little incentive to work at all.

Bottom line, he who works/produces without reward has little incentive to work/produce at all.

The result is invariably less prosperity for all.

If you look at the history of Leftist ideologies, you can see how they deal with those whose view differs......they kill them.

The quote “one death is a tragedy, a million deaths are a statistic” is often attributed to Joseph Stalin....

During the French Revolution, the provenance of the Bolsheviks and the Nazis, and the Fascists, the elites claimed to be infused with the 'will of the people," the "general will."
“We must reason about all things,” and anyone who ‘refuses to seek out the truth’ thereby renounces his human nature and “should be treated by the rest of his species as a wild beast.” So, once ‘truth’ is determined, anyone who doesn’t accept it was “either insane or wicked and morally evil.” It is not the individual who has the “ right to decide about the nature of right and wrong,” but only “the human race,” expressed as the general will. Himmelfarb, “The Roads to Modernity,” p. 167-68

"If the French revolution was the end of monarchy and aristocratic privilege and the emergence of the common man and democratic rights, it was also the beginnings of modern totalitarian government and large-scale executions of "enemies of the People" by impersonal government entities (Robespierre's "Committee of Public Safety").

This legacy would not reach its fullest bloom until the tragic arrival of the German Nazis and Soviet and Chinese communists of the 20th century."
French Revolution - Robespierre, and the Legacy of the Reign of Terror

'In ‘The Social Contract’ Rousseau advocated death for anyone who did not uphold the common values of the community: the totalitarian view of reshaping of humanity, echoed in communism, Nazism, progressivism. Robespierre: “the necessity of bringing about a complete regeneration and, if I may express myself so, of creating a new people.”

Himmefarb, , “The Roads to Modernity,” p. 167-68.

What we obtain too cheaply we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated.” –Thomas Paine, The American Crisis No. 1, 1776.

For sure the left these days opposes free speech. They call it opposing disinformation but they demand that only they can say what disinformation is and of course that will be anything that exposes or challenges their actions, policies, agenda.

And there are none so dishonestly vicious as a leftist partisan who uses any dishonesty in order discredit, suppress, silence, neutralize, destroy anybody who makes them look bad or gets in their way.

We saw it this morning in the Hegseth confirmation hearing. The Democrats bent over backwards trying to destroy him and used every trick in the book. I'm pretty sure they did not at all succeed. I hope most Americans watching/hearing that could see how reprehensible it was.

Let's work within your framework.

Bottom line, he who receives without working for it has little incentive to work at all.
Glad you are so supportive of a steep estate tax. Because let's be honest, when someone inherits millions, maybe even billions of dollars, they sure as hell didn't work for it. I mean what incentive do they have to work? And to put an example out there, how many of Sam Walton's heirs work?

Bottom line, he who works/produces without reward has little incentive to work/produce at all.

I know you are talking about financial compensation, but there is more to "reward" than dollars. Appreciation for one's work is the main thing. In fact, when you ask employees what is important to them, their salary barely makes it in to the top five. Appreciation, it is at the top. Workers are not appreciated, nor respected, any more.

But here is my take. If someone is content living on welfare, collecting those minimal benefits, even if it does mean they have a cell phone, internet, cable, and air-conditioning. If that is all that it takes to keep them happy. If that is all the motivation they have. Well damn, I got no problem paying them, if for no other reason than to keep them the hell out of my way. Out of everyone's way. Makes for a much more productive workplace.
