Bush Announces Return of Saddam Hussein to Iraq
Washington. President Bush surprised reporters at a Rose Garden press briefing today by announcing that he will return former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein will take over the government in Bagdad on June 30.
Bush, with National Security Advisor Rice and Secretary of State Powell by his side, said Look, weve already brought back the Republican Guard to take over key military posts, and weve invited Saddams Baath Party officials to take over key positions in Iraqis ministries. Why not take the next logical step and bring back Hussein himself. Heck, we know he does not have any weapons of mass destruction any more, he didnt torture the Iraqis any worse than we have, and he sure as hell knew how to keep order, and thats our top priority right now. President Bush, who seemed unusually relaxed before the Washington press corps added Hell, if this works, we might put Miloslovic back in Serbia.
Asked by reporters if he was kidding, Bush said he was as serious as a Texas hurricane. He want on to say that Defense Secretary Rumsfeld continues to have the full support of Vice President Chency and thats good enough for me. It could not be determined by reporters if the President had been drinking.
