The real reason we have supply shortages

O.K. This post, is a little off topic, and maybe I should start another thread, but I don't feel like it, and it isn't important enough, IMO to do so.

Because of my disability, I rarely leave the house, only on a good day, which is rare, to go get food and what not.

I did so a few days ago, and I had no problem finding anything. I spoke with the folks the other day, they started Christmas shopping early, because of all this hullabaloo in the press, about supply chain disruption, and what not. They are almost done, they haven't seen any shortage of anything either. Same with my other relatives. I have spoken with friends, they aren't seeing anything either.

. . . so my question is. Has anyone seen shortages of things? Or. . . maybe it is just folks west of the Mississippi that are seeing this?

Why is what is being reported in the press, not what I, and other folks I know and talk to, experiencing? :dunno:
There is no shortage of anything where I live since the shortages of stuff in 2020.

Yeah, there were shortages of things in 2020, a few items here and there. The usual, TP, pint size ziploc bags, re-fried black-beans with jalapenos, etc.

And we still have occasionally shortages of items here and there. I haven't been able to get my favorite brand of stuffed grape leaves for months now. . . .

But I mean, really. . .

First world problems :auiqs.jpg:

We have all been told by Biden and the Bidensters that the supply chain is the fault of everyone and everything other than those in government.

However, the truth is coming out.

America is suffering a supply chain crisis that has caused empty shelves in many stores across America. The most obvious culprit is the Covid vaccine mandate, which has forced many Americans into unemployment rather than take an experimental vaccine that has left over 17,000 Americans dead.

Why then is the Port of Long Beach in California, the apparent epicenter of this problem? Well, it turns out the Gavin Newsom government passed laws that have taken commercial trucks older than ten years off the road and have made truckers, who are private contractors, unemployable.

As hordes of ships wait to unload at California ports and elsewhere, some are shifting blame to the Golden State’s regulations on the trucking industry.

One recent https://api.politifact.com/factchecks/2021/oct/19/facebook-posts/californias-trucking-regulations-may-have-had-impa/”%5Dnews article[/URL] notes “‘The NEWS says the California port situation is caused by a driver shortage,’ one viral post on Facebook said. ‘Not so fast: It is in part caused by a California Truck Ban, which says all trucks must be 2011 or newer, and a law called AB 5, which prohibits Owner Operators.'”

“The post was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed…”

“The post is referring to real California policies…”

“Many factors have contributed to the shipping backlog, including a lack of warehouse space and equipment shortages.”

“Most issues can be traced back to the COVID-19 pandemic, experts said, which resulted in factory closures and employee layoffs that crippled production worldwide…”

“The post points to two separate California policies: a law called AB 5 that was passed in 2019 and aims to give independent contractors more employee rights…”

“Critics, however, say the measure makes it nearly impossible for truck drivers to be independent contractors because they inevitably work in the same line as the companies they contract with. The Los Angeles Times reported in 2019 that out of approximately 13,000 truckers who serve the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, just a few hundred are classified as employees. Most are considered ‘owner operators’ who often lease their rigs from trucking companies…”

“To meet the current clean air regulations, the state Department of Motor Vehicles blocks new registrations of any oversized vehicles older than 2011…”

Gee, what a shocker. The do-gooder liberals in Sacramento pass laws that make most truckers unable to work and another law that takes all commercial trucks over ten years old off the road, and then out of the surviving truckers, who are able to work in California and who still have a legal truck, a looming vaccine mandate will further devastate their number.

It’s a wonder that anything is being shipped anywhere in California!
We've been through bullshit before. If that were the cause then GEORGIA wouldn't be having the same problems...and they are

The funniest thing about this thread...Votto's source

Are those pre-stuffed leaves? And you finally let us know you are Lebanese...The only items I have seen in low supply are Lunchables..

Just because I like Mexican and Chinese food, doesn't make me either of those. Weirdo.

. . . and yeah, pre-stuffed. That is the whole point. Making something like that from scratch is a bitch. Too labor intensive.

But. . . I wouldn't notice Lunchables being gone. How hard is it to slice cheese and open a sleeve of crackers? :auiqs.jpg:

I bet you say that to all the Milton Freemans you hang with at the machine shop....

The obstacle was put there by leaders of nations shutting down production and shipping which caused shortages in 2020 and you thought everything would be normal now that Trump is gone.
They were put there by CA Democrats, moron. How would shutting down production overseas cause a backlog in CA ports?

You're such a dumbass.

Sure they would. GA gets foreign made goods in the same place as every other city in the county.

As hard as it is to steam a leaf and roll it.

The issue is not that the racist site EXISTS...stupid...it's that Votto not only reads the garbage on it but uses it as a source
I'm not into that sort of thing, but, knowing Votto, it isn't a supremacist site, it is a nationalist site.

You haven't been around as long, and you are a bit less. . . . hmmmmm, discerning? You probably have no idea what the difference is between a "ethno-nationalist," and an "ethno-supramacist," is. . . but I don't think Votto has ever made any secret that he is an ethno-nationalist.

:dunno:

So, ironically? I guess that makes YOU the stupid one, doesn't it?

eh?

Any system will backlog when a lot of material is dumped at one time.
You are what you are. The Prog Socialists Communists are what they are. But they push social justice and all of the cuteness in front of their destructive end game. Every system like they promote ends badly. We still have the infrastructure to give as many people as possible more and a comfortable living. And they are being denied. To the Southern States...Build the Costa Rican Canal. Bypass these friggin Commies.

Ahem, in case you missed it Panama has this canal that ship can traverse but you see the capitalist are way too cheap to pay for that detour so you will wait for that pet rock from Made in China.
