The 2nd quarter contraction of GDP is the largest quarterly real GDP contraction in the history of the United States.

Shutting down the economy really hurt. Imagine that lol

We wouldn't have to of shut down the economy if Trump had sealed the borders of the country on January 20, 2020 like TAIWAN did. Taiwan has only had 7 deaths from Covid-19, the United States has had 150,000+. The only way to protect or rescue the economy is to first DEFEAT the virus. Trump has failed to do much of anything about the virus as it continues its destructive march across the country.

So what? It was the pandemic, the China virus, aka Covid-19 that caused the shutdown of the US economy in 2020 not Trump policies.
If you look at the US economy January 29th 2020 Trump had the very best US economy.
Your post trying to blame Trump for the economic dip instead of the pandemic is pathetic.

Do to negative GDP growth in the second quarter of 0.9%, Biden's position on the list falls from 4.18% average to 3.28% average for his time and office and he moves down the list from #4 to #7. The United States has now had two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth, 1.6% in the first quarter of the year, and 0.9% in the second quarter of the year. Two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth is the definition of a recession. So the United States economy is now in a recession.

Your first sentence should be revised to:
"Due to negative GDP growth in the second quarter of -0.9%..."

The US economy will slow over the coming months as the Fed raises interest rates, and as the Xiden "war on energy" continues to hurt spending. By 2024 Xiden's GDP number will be much lower. I'm not sure it matters since the democrats are going to throw Joe under the bus by 2024. I'm not sure who carries their standard into 2024? Buttplug? Newsome? ______?

Yeah, but look at the National Debt increase to raise that GDP.
Borrowing money to raise the GDP is a negative, not a positive

On Oct. 1, 2021, at the end of fiscal year 2021, the national debt was $28.4 trillion. Between the end of fiscal year 2020 and the end of fiscal year 2021, the national debt grew $1.5 trillion, a 5.6% increase year over year. For fiscal year 2022, President Joe Biden's budget included a deficit of $1.84 trillion, and by August 2022, the national debt had grown to $30.8 trillion

1. Kennedy lasted 2-years, not a full term.
2. Biden is a fiscal disaster
3. Johnson wasted money on the VN war, a disaster
4. The best GDP was Bill Clinton. He and Newt balanced the Budget. That's the right way.

Not to be unwelcoming (welcome back) but Bidenomics is a disaster.

Joe Biden is a disaster. So how do you propose to dump Biden gracefully and nominate __________ for 2024?

Glad to see you posting again U2.

GDP isn't the metric that decides elections like 2024.
1. Joe Biden has a 75% "wrong track" number.
2. Joe Biden is too old and is unelectable.
3. Joe Biden's INFLATION number is more important than GDP, and if you have been to the supermarket lately, you know why.
4. Trump is beating Biden in the polls.

Hello again U2. Welcome back to our annual debate.

Biden is still a disaster. Inflation is what will defeat dems in November, not GDP.

Every time anyone buys groceries Biden loses voters.

It does not seem like he is debating, he is posting a fact, you are posting your feelings.

Also, he post quarterly, not annually. Seems you should know the difference.

1. I think U2 is a she.
2. The OP is dated 12/05/2018 during Trump's term.
3. There are almost 40 posts in 5-years, 20 quarters. I think my posts are about one a year.
4. I am posting facts. Inflation is a bigger problem for Biden than GDP. Families are spending $709 a month more due to Biden's inflation.

US inflation means families are spending $709 more per month than two years ago
