Sure, I'll tell you something--- as usual, you cannot address the issue so you try to make it about the messenger instead, discredit the messenger so you can justify ignoring the uncomfortable message.

• When Fox News carried reports the MSM refused to, you ran from them by trying to claim Fox just wasn't "real" news.
• When voting and election trends don't go your way, rather than address the issue, you try to dismiss the voters themselves, trying to lump them all into some brainwashed cult so as to excuse Dems from any responsibility themselves.
• Now here again, rather than address a nearly 10% drop in interest in a highly leftist Hollywood-driven program, you again try to rationalize the truth as it being a mostly conservative program effect we all know is total bull.

Movie theater attendance is mainly down because of home theaters with big screen TVs. People don't have to go out to a messy, expensive theater anymore to get the theater experience. I sure don't want to watch it now on a 2" cellphone screen when I can see it in 4KHD on a 70" screen.

I went to regular theater a couple of months ago, first time since Amadeus came out. They were charging more for some crappy popcorn than the ticket cost, and the same for a drink. Ridiculous. Never going back. Most of the stuff that is any good ends up on free TV sooner or later anyway. Most of the rest of it disappears.

I had thought about going to see Formula1, but somebody who saw it said it was just 10 minutes of Brad Pitt acting like an asshole for every 20 seconds of race footage, so I didn't go.

You know, because 20-somethings don't own TVs anymore and would rather sit for 2 hours watching their cellphone, meantime, there is zero chance I'll be watching anything live on Youtube. Seriously, I doubt being carried over television was the reason 9% of viewers who wanted to see the Oscars somehow missed them.

Whenever that was. I think the last movie I saw was either Dark Knight Rises where Batman fights Bane, Star Trek Into Darkness (seen in 3D, big mistake) or the first Avatar movie.

That is where the theater makes all their money. There is almost no profit margin on the movie and ticket sales themselves. I think last time I went to the theater, a movie was costing $7.xx which I thought was getting obscene. And the theater was very dirty.

Most of the stuff that is any good ends up on free TV sooner or later anyway. Most of the rest of it disappears.

I already have thousands of the best of everything archived. My archiving of TV and film pretty much ended quiet happily around the time Hollywood really took a pitch (~~around 2015 and since) so I have not missed much nor had any cause to really go out to subscribe to cable or buy DVDs etc.

In order to receive an Oscar nomination, a movie HAS to have a certain percentage of minorities in both acting roles and production and those in production HAVE to have a certain percentage in management roles. In addition, a movie HAS to have a significant story line focusing on minorities.
