When said Marxist dictator asserts that the role of taxation is to "spread the wealth around", rather than to provide for the proper enumerated roles of a lawful government, then the debate is pretty much conceded as to whether or not he is in fact a Marxist.

Dinesh Desouza ( sp.) had it right when he described Obama as an anti-colonialist.

However Obama does not have enough power to fundamentally transform society and the economy. He can only chip away around the edges. Even then, it all can be changed back after the electorate sees what damage his ACA will cause to their pocket books.

Well first, yes, the media is dominated by lefties and it shows, but it's more than that. The GOP shoots itself in the foot when it goes right along with the caricatures the Left makes of it. Sure, the media is all too happy to report it, but why freakin' give it to them in the first place? Holy shit, the economy is a mess, and the GOP let the freakin' conversation turn to abortion and "sluts". And then, the biggest gift of all, rich guy Romney and the 47% quote. What a lay-down. That's just insane. But it happened.

Seems to me it would be a helluva lot smarter to run under a more moderately conservative banner, get elected, show you know what the hell you're doing, EARN the trust and faith of the electorate, and move to the right as appropriate from there.

Instead, it's the "all or nothing" approach. It didn't work. The party missed the layup.
