They need to remove or scrap it. It is too much of a headache to take care of. Until recently I was unaware of the problems. They can blacktop it and make it a paid parking lot.

Polyurea coatings can be used, but you have to make sure the concrete is dry. There are epoxy primers that you can use as a vapor barrier on the surface. But the concrete still have to be dry when it's applied.

Another place where delamination happens is where coats overlap. Once it dries you have to prep it again before you coat over it or it won't bond.

This is why they don't have no-bid contracts.
On a bid basis, the company has to meet the requirements of the job. And they have to work out avoiding the pitfalls.
I'm sure a company with actual experience with this kind of supersized pool, wouldn't have f'd up.

Um... no making it 'beautiful' was a core part of the restoration. They were supposed to put in a new more reflective paint, and a filtration system, and a multi-million dollar ozone system to prevent algae from growing.

It didn't work right away.

Trump's excuse was he waited over a year to do anything about it, so he no longer had enough time to put it into the federal budget, or properly contract it out.

How should I know. The reflecting pool is like 350k square feet, not including the sides. Is anyone really all that surprised that there is some amount of paint failure given the size and scope of the project? I’m not.

You know that right that he wasn’t actually out there doing the work or choosing the products that were used or anything, other than saying, this needs to be done and authorizing the expenditure maybe. I don’t know that I believe presidents are actually that involved in this type of thing. Most executives or not they identify an issue. Decide they want it fixed and then delegate the execution of that to someone else.
