The new Superman....................what do you think?

when i was a kid growing up in the late 50's my grandfather was a mechanic on the cities garbage trucks....the garbage guys used to collect any comics that were being thrown out that were in good shape and brought them to him and he would bring a stack of them over every sat to give to me and my brother... i had so many early DC and Gold Key comics and then Marvel showed up.....if only i would have known.....i had all the number 1 marvel comics of the 60's...

Lots of moms from that era guilty of throwing out millions of dollars worth of vintage comics, for sure

Of course, at the time, keeping old comics was akin to keeping stacks of old newspapers. They were literally viewed as piles of trash

yep......i used to put baseball cards attached to my rear tire on my bike with a clothes pin to make a stupid noise.....i know i used Micky Mantles rookie card once or twice....

I love how “good” Superboy is chewing on a stalk of wheat. Cause, apparently, that’s what good, wholesome American boys did back then.

And “bad” Superboy is wearing a little eye-mask just to make sure the kids grasped that he’s a robber.

Why is he wearing the mask all alone, in the middle of nowhere? And did he think mask would prevent anyone from identifying him? The red cape and giant ‘S’ shield are kind of a giveaway.
