Meet Your New "James" Bond: Jessie Buckley

I hope I’m wrong about this but I can’t see it working. I don’t think the public will buy a female Bond. Can you see her saying the cute little double entendres that have become the trademark of the character? I cannot.

I hope they give her a few movies to see though and don’t pull the plug after one outing.
But how many retreads of the same guy can you see? Shit.. they came up with Enola Holmes as a little sister sleuth movies that are doing really well. It's basically the same universe as Sherlock, different character, stuff. Just allows for some breathing on the story line. Maybe they can pull it off. If it sucks no one will like it.

The Daniel Craig movies all cleaned up so I am not sure what you are asking.
Shit, I forgot about those, I did watch his last one, it was OK, Craig was a worthy replacement.....Roger Moore sucked sweaty donkey balls.

I just watched Craig's newest Knives Out murder mystery....I was intertained.

Although I wasn't thrilled, the female incarnation of Doctor Who wasn't as bad as I thought.

And as a lifelong Trekkie, I have to say I have always been A-OK with Captain Katherine Janeway of U.S.S. Voyager. She was really pretty good, IMO. Even sexy in a rugged kind of way. A bitchy female captain with perfect hair, lots of makeup, leather knee-high boots and tight pants NEVER would have got past Warp 1 with me. 🤣

And I think this new bond movie can get flushed as far as I'm concerned.

I thought Craig’s more visceral portrayal of Bond was great. It still stayed Bond slick. His Casino Royal is one of my favorite movies and Eva Green is about as perfect of a character as the franchise has ever kicked out.

All of the Knives Out were solid fun. I agree. First was the best but the other two are good. He sneakily has a good movie catalogue of off beat movies.

You hope they give her a few movies despite the fact you don't think she's good for the role? Interesting.

At any rate, mainstream film studios aren't driven by profits anymore, they're mostly driven by disseminating woke propaganda and platforming an endless parade of racist, bigoted left-wingers, and they're happy to lose hundreds of millions of their stockholders' dollars to do it (i.e. Disney).

An authentic ass-kicker.

"Why he fits: Lee could bring a near-perfect balance of restraint and intensity to the role. His mastery of subtle emotional control, seen in movies and TV shows like A Bittersweet Life (2005), Inside Men (2015), I Saw the Devil (2010), Mr. Sunshine (2018) and Squid Game (2021-2025), allows him to command a scene without uttering a word.

"The South Korean celebrity navigates the spectrum between hero and anti-hero with ease, making him ideal for Bond’s morally grey territory."

I am sure this news will trigger the usual suspects but I dont mind a few years diversion from the typical James Bond fare for a different take on the Bond Universe. They can bring back a dude and James after a break. Daniel Craig killed it and I wouldnt want to follow him either and look like Timothy Dalton... utterly forgettable.

Jessie Buckley is an incredible actress. As long as they handle it like John Wick Ballerina where the 100 lbs woman isnt unbelieveabley out muscling 250lb men I think it will go fine. Ballerina got her ass kicked hand to hand and had to improvise out of it with tools and moves.

Anyway.. nothing will help some of you on this news.

You read correctly: James Bond will be played by a woman for the first time, in the wake of Lashana Lynch briefly taking over the 007 mantle in Daniel Craig’s Bond swansong, 2021’s No Time To Die.

Buckley rose to fame following her role as Rose-Lynn Harlan in Tom Harper’s Wild Rose (2018). The 36-year-old followed that critically acclaimed turn with I’m Thinking of Ending Things, The Lost Daughter, Men and The Bride!, before taking home the Oscar for Best Actress this year for her performance in Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet.

She therefore becomes the first Oscar-winning performer to be cast as Bond.
I'm real leery of this move. Amazon MGM knocked it out of the park with Project Hail Mary. This has the opportunity to seriously backfire for the studio if it comes across as more of the "woke Hollywood dreck" they're been putting out for years. It's really going to come down how the storyline is written and how to they pivot to someone that's not the gender that Ian Fleming based the James Bond series on.

It may work...I hope it does.

I don’t see it happening though.

Loved Casino Royale and Skyfall. Quantum, Spectre, and NTTD were pretty ho hum though. Casino was incredible and sort of speaks to what I think is wrong with having a Bondette; audiences like a rascal and a female being a rascal is a harder sell than trying to pass off a guy as a rascal. Skyfall, IMHO, was probably the best Bond film from a movie standpoint.

I hate obvious Flik-flubs. There is a monster one on the beginning of Skyfall. Later when Bond confronts M he recites her line, “Take the Bloody Shot” so he still had his earpiece in; why didn’t Moneypenny just tell James...”On 3, I’m firing, you may want to duck” and give herself a clean shot?

Whatever they do, make each film an independent unit. Don’t do a Wicked where they have parts one and two.

I really liked the Knives Out movie. The sequel was sort of meh. I really liked Craig in Munich.

Democrats be like... MAKE JAMES BOND A CHICK THAT'S LAME AND GAY!!!
