Technological society leads to increasing numbers of people who cannot adapt to the inhuman rhythm of modern life with its emphasis on specialization. A class of people is growing up who are unexploitable because they are not worth employing even for the minimum wage.

Mostly white people. Brown people from other countries haven't had the luxury of becoming unemployable. So white America can plan to exploit those brown people from other countries to solve the problem.

But what if the brown people are more capable of exploiting the white people?

Or what about Chinese people who are much more capable than white people and their system facilitates the use of white slave labour to furnish their needs? That would explain why all Americans know that China's system must be failing!

Technological progress makes whole categories of people useless without making it possible to support them with the wealth produced by the progress.
