The myth of the so called "southern strategy" brought about by leftist propagandists.

The Southern Strategy was a legitimate response to the five years of black ghetto riots that followed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the War on Poverty that was declared the same year. These were followed the same year by a black ghetto riot in Harlem. The Voting Rights Bill signed in 1965 was followed by the Watts Riot in 1965. The Open Housing Act of 1968 was followed by nation wide black ghetto riots.

When evaluating the civil rights movement, go beyond the ideals of the movement, and consider the results. There is often wisdom in tradition. Jim Crow legislation was based on sound instinct.

Millions of he same people who voted enthusiastically for Franklin Roosevelt during the 1930's and early 1940's voted with equal enthusiasm for George Wallace three decades later. When they voted for Wallace they were voting against the rise in black social pathology that followed the civil rights movement.

The Democrats should have learned from the Wallace phenomenon. Because they did not, the United States became a Republican country. There were no black ghetto riots of any consequence during the first Nixon presidential term. The white majority rewarded Nixon with a landslide victory over George McGovern, even though the War in Vietnam had become unpopular.
Love to hear the racists chime in on Civil Rights

If the civil rights legislation and the War on Poverty had caused most blacks to behave and perform as well as most whites the Southern Strategy would have been ineffective. Richard Nixon would not have been elected president in 1968. A Democrat dove would have been elected who would have negotiated an end to the War In Vietnam. Because of the black ghetto riots and the overall increase in black crime and illegitimacy Nixon was elected president. Consequently the War in Vietnam continued for seven more terrible years.

An "American Dilemma: the Negro Problem and American Democracy" was published in 1944. It was written by Gunnar Myrdal, who was a Swedish economist and academic. He later won the Nobel Prize in Economics.

In "An American Dilemma" Dr. Myrdal acknowledged that blacks tend to perform less well intellectually than whites and that they have higher rates of crime and illegitimacy. He blamed these on racial discrimination, and argued when black were given equal rights most would begin to behave and perform as well as most whites.

"An American Dilemma" was cited in the Brown vs Board of Education Supreme Court decision of 1954, and inspired the civil rights movement. The civil rights legislation passed during the 1960's gave the Negroes equal rights. Now blacks are discriminated in favor of because of affirmative action programs.

In 2022 it should be obvious that professor Myrdal's optimistic assessment of black potential has not been achieved. Black rates of crime and illegitimacy have risen. Black academic performance has improved little, despite expensive government spending programs like Head Start and No Child Left Behind.

You are the reason Civil Rights laws are needed

What did I say that is not true?

When will civil rights laws begin to enable most black to perform and behave as well as most whites?

Prejudice is the result of previous experience. If proximity with blacks dispelled prejudice Southern whites would be the least prejudiced whites in the United States.

Stereotypes are over generalizations of what is really true. There is no stereotype of a fat Chinese woman on welfare with five illegitimate children by five different men. There is no stereotype of a lazy, stupid Jewish man with several felony convictions and several illegitimate children he does nothing to support.

Those who dislike Orientals and Jews resent them because of their intelligence, their success, and their prosperity.

The answer is really simple, the demofks can't survive without race baiting. It's all they have as an edge. Racist, rrrrraciiiiiiist, a-rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraciiiiiiiiiiiist

The Southern Strategy worked as the once solid Democratic South is now solid Republican

Republicans exploited Democratic support for Civil Rights to turn voters Republican.

No, they exploited the fact that northern and western states exempted themselves from the Civil Rights AcT, until Nixon forced Congress to not only renew all the Sunset Laws and make them all permanent and applicable to all the states, not just the seven southern states. Amd we all know the history of how Yankees and Democrat shithole states like California handle 'racism n stuff': they have more frequent and violent riots than the South has.

And that gimmick is starting to fail, largely due to the racism of its voter base.; seems like black and latino voters, even the illegal ones, don't really like faggots and kiddie rapers and demented 'trannies' running grade schools, and most American latinos don;t like illegal aliens screwing up their neighborhoods and cutting down their wages.

But as usual, the GOP has noted that, and are now trying to figure out how to lose a sure thing in the next two elections.

So it was Republicans who passed Civil Rights Act, right?

Cox's action of burning the cross, federal prosecutors say, falls under the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (sections of which are called the Fair Housing Act), which prohibits discrimination against a person's housing rights based on the individual's race, religion, national origin, sex or family status.

So how come it's Republicans who don't like people being charged with hate crimes? It was their Civil Rights laws that these hate criminals are breaking

Hate crimes are thought crimes.....anything covered by a hate crime is already a crime that can be prosecuted...you shitheads want to outlaw bad thoughts.

This is my point. You guys love to say "Republicans passed civil rights" but today it's you guys who don't want to charge a person when they violate a person's civil rights. Rights you supposedly passed in the 60's.

You guys love to deny the south flipped when Civil Rights were passed. White Southern Democrats suddenly became Republicans.

Nope....the south didn't go Republican until 1994.....you moron.

If that is the best you can do, you prove that what I said is true.

lol more rubbish. the fact is states like California got to keep their literacy test requirements and other fun things the Acts directly banned in the South. Harlem's percentage of black voters was about the same as Mississippi's for instance, and we all got to see how those wonderful educated and enlightened Bostonians welcomed busses of black students to their local schools. lol The Acts would never have passed in northern states if they didn't exclude all but seven southern states. I realize real history never fits your own racist narratives.

The less contact one has with blacks the more likely one is to be sympathetic toward them. The civil rights legislation was forced on whites with extensive experience with blacks by withes with little experience with blacks.

Texas remained mostly Democrats with a couple of Governor exceptions, until Ann Richards decided she had to pander to her drinking buddies in Austin like Molly Ivins and some other rich hippies and lost to a dimwit. She wrecked the Texas Democratic Party and drove out moderates like Bob Bullock, Barbara Jordan died of cancer prematurely, and was replaced with some idiots as the elites' chosen 'black leadership'. This was preceded in the 70's and 80's by the same sort of stupid choices at the national level and the 'super delegate rule'.

Mostly true, yes. Elites don't realize how racist most minorities are, they just believe it's just white proles causing the problems. Their professors lie to them, knowing how sheltered and ignorant most rich kids are as well as middle class Burb Brats.. Some Democrats knew what the real issues were, like Patrick Moynihan, but the Party elites threw them under a bus and pandered to some dumbass radicals.

no such laws.
I think this will best illustrate how you Republicans today are not the same as Republicans who passed Civil Rights or freed the slaves.

Forget about how today you sound just like the white southern kkk guys. I watched Mississippi Burning again last night. Those white southern racist democrats sure do sound a lot like you. They hated the Federal Government. Called them commies. N word lovers. Liberal Faggots. Those guys sure do sound like Republicans today.

But forget all that. Let's fast forward to the Kerner report that said the 60's riots were caused because of how police treat blacks like second class citizens. Let's pretend it was you Republicans who agreed with that report even though we know that's not true.

So fast forward to today. Today you are against blacks. You insist that today white Americans and cops don't treat blacks like second class citizens. Is that your position? Blacks today are making up that cops treat them like second class citizens? You agreed with the cops today right? What changed?

Three years after Breonna Taylor was shot and and killed in her apartment, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland released a blistering report Wednesday finding that the city and its police department have violated the constitutional rights of its citizens, particularly Black people.

So if you saw it back in Lincoln's day and back during Civil Rights, how come today you disagree with blacks? How come you changed since the days of Lincoln?
