The more guns in a country the more gun deaths.

2 men outside my window ready to break in. Me sitting in the dark with a rifle pointed right at their heads.
Which of the three was the safest?
I never felt more secure...

And yet, the statistics don't back you up.

Apparently Alaska has loads of guns, which means loads of women won't get raped.... and yet it has a rape rate FIVE TIMES higher than New York's...

Why?

We are a nation of gun owners and that will never change. There are more guns than people in this country and that will never change. Most are responsible gun owners who do not contribute to the gun death numbers. Some are criminals who produce most of the gun deaths. Gun laws will never make a difference, address the root cause of why there are "hotspots" of gun deaths in certain areas and certain demographics.
Why not require a license to own a gun. Just like cars. You have to prove your understanding and ability to own and use a gun.
The same licensing of cars does not prevent any desrving qualified individual from obtaining a license and driving a car.

Ok let's do that. Now what does that do about the majority of guns illegally obtained by the people MOST LIKELY to use those guns to kill people?

:eusa_think: Cause they left their guns at home?

Oh well, so many women going out and leaving their guns at home. And leaving your gun at home is a sentence too being raped in Alaska....

Who'd want to live like that?

More & more Women are gettin Carry Permits & extra Class / Range training

The first thing it would do would limit new buyers of guns who are iresponsible. Irresponsible gun owners who do not properly store guns are the biggest source of criminals getting guns.

The women that don't want raped...
Rape is the problem here, not guns. Focus on the criminal and not the victim trying to defend themselves...

Wow, that's a post that's just... non-sensical.

Nothing is ever about guns. A load of kids get shot up at school "it's not about guns".

You say it's about focusing on the criminal, and yet, YOU DON'T. You just want to lock people up, rather than focusing on STOPPING their crimes.

Locking them up does stop their crimes. That works better than taking away our Second Amendment...

If only the one getting raped had a gun and the reaper did not. Usually it is the raper with the gun and the victim does not have a gun. if both have a gun, it will probably be a bad ending for both.

Yeah..... except THE STATISTICS DON'T SAY THAT.

Louisiana has the HIGHEST incarceration rate at 1,067 people per 100,000 people.
Mississippi is second, Arkansas third, Oklahoma, Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia, Tennessee, DC, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Texas, Alaska....

Top 14 is basically (aside from DC) a who's who of Republican states. Republicans love their prisons.

Here's the murder rate by state in 2022

1) DC, 2) Louisiana, 3) New Mexico, 4) South Carolina, 5) Alabama, 6) Missouri, 7 Alaska, 8 Tennessee, 9 Maryland, 10 Georgia, 11 North Carolina.

Do, the state with the highest murder is the state with the most incarceration. Does it work? No.

Or make it even easier for Carry Permit holders to purchase Firearms ( give them FFL type Abilities like no BGC needed for purchases at Gun Shows and no Curio Relic license needed for those purchases and no wait time for purchases where that usually applies and ability to do FTF deals where those are limited or verboten …

My Ohio CCW allows me to by-pass federal background checks.

My Ohio CCW allows me to by-pass federal background checks.
My California CCW does not assist me in Ammo BGC or Firearm Purchases ( except I don’t need to get a Firearm safety Card ) and there are many other states that permits do not aid in such things

Why not require a license to own a gun. Just like cars.
You don't need a license to buy or own a car, dipshit.
You can lose your license and buy/own as many cars as you want.
You can commit vehicular homicide and still own as many cars as you want.
In fact. the only time you need a license is if you -operate- a car on -public roads-.

So, yeah - let's require a license to own a gun -- "just like cars".

The more guns in a country the more gun deaths.
The more mental illness does not correlate to more gun deaths
current study debunks the widely quoted hypothesis that guns make a nation safer.

The number of guns per capita per country was a strong and independent predictor of firearm-related death in a given country, whereas the predictive power of the mental illness burden was of borderline significance in a multivariable model. Regardless of exact cause and effect, however, the current study debunks the widely quoted hypothesis that guns make a nation safer.
