True, you take the big picture analysis as a comparison to other countries. You can then do more granular analysis by country. That will give you insights to the big picture analysis. The big picture analysis stands true, but you can get better understanding of why the macro analysis trends the way it does.

We are a nation of gun owners and that will never change. There are more guns than people in this country and that will never change. Most are responsible gun owners who do not contribute to the gun death numbers. Some are criminals who produce most of the gun deaths. Gun laws will never make a difference, address the root cause of why there are "hotspots" of gun deaths in certain areas and certain demographics.
