The metaphorical wrecking ball analogy takes a physical form.

Have you ever been to the White House?

What I recall of the East Wing from my visit there in Sept, 2024, was old fashioned and very worn out. It was a disappointment, to say the least.
It was built in the middle of WWII during rationing. FDR didn't get as much pushback as Trump is getting.

Trump is digging into his own pocket? Sure he is.

Anyone who believes that line of shit is welcome to make an offer on a bridge I have for sale in the middle of the Mojave Desert.

As the WH is government property, there has, by law a bidding process approved by Congress. The WH is NOT a private home. It is owned by the government and only the government can approve changes to that property.

Of course. If Trump got congressinal approval for taxpayer funding requiring a bidding process there wouldn't have been any graft in it for him & his W.H. goon squad. Kryptonite for all mobsters.

Btw, what's the story with all those cost overruns when the ******* building process hasen't even started yet? Where's the blueprints, architectural designs etc justifying the now over $300 million price tag? Hmmmm?
Not taxpayer money. Don't you think Gates, Bezos, Zuckerberg and the Google boys are keeping track of this project? They're paying for it. BTW, you don't know jack about what is going on with this project anymore than any other lib social media poster. If you have something concrete, post it. Don't just make unsubstantiated statements about your unhinged worries. LOL. I asked others on here, where was all of this indignation when Obama spent $306M $$$ of American TAXPAYER money on WH renovations that Mikey wanted.

This is not funded with public money and it has already been scrutinized for legality. Too bad it sets off your TDS, no one GAF. BTW, you're more than welcome to link to any concerns that you don't think were properly followed. LOL Good Luck snowflake.

trump is worth billions and it's not all him, it's called donations

kinda how gofundme works when some asshat gets into trouble

It saddens me. It sickens me.

Trump is destroying an American treasure. He is destroying our history.

And the worst part? He is doing it without any Congressional approval at all.

A $350 million vanity project for a wannabe King while thousands of Federal workers are losing their jobs. It's just disgusting.

He doesn't need congressional approval. You know nothing but what the dorks at MSNBC tell you.
Like all presidents before him, Trump benefits from a decades-old exemption under the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (Section 107), which waives the usual Section 106 review for impacts on historic sites like the White House. This gives the president broad authority to proceed without that step and proceed with the construction of the ballroom.

Of course.....it matters not to a total MAGA simp such as yourself that King Trump got absolutely no funding approval from Congress for his vanity project bullshit.
Trump does not need public funding but if he did need it they would have to pay for the ballroom, just like their paid for all of our previous presidents' construction projects.

Bullshit, Trump wants tax payers to pay it, by him writing a government check to himself and then "donating" it:

Thank you for the bump but that article has nothing to do with the OP.

If it is legal for OMB to file suit where's the beef ?

These MOFOs threw everything they had at him to bring him down.

Trump never could have been removed from office and the DEMs knew it.

Talking about wasting the taxpayers $$$.

Changes to the white house have been done before.
Teddy Roosevelt added the west wing
FDR added a pool
Truman added a bowling alley
Clinton added a fellatiotorium
Obama added a basketball court

Obama also enlarged the kitchen area of the White House. All these projects were paid for by the taxpayers.

Someplace in this thread I posted a list of the donors for another moron that thought he had a gotcha. I found someone else's list on post #792, just an FYI so you can direct the next moron that asks you.

Part of White House Is Reduced to Rubble. Trump’s Ballroom Will Rise in Its Place.

The facade of the East Wing of the White House came crumbling down on Monday as construction began on President Trump’s 90,000-square-foot ballroom, a project that will transform one of the most recognizable buildings in the world and nearly double the size of the existing structure.

Having already changed so much about the way Washington works, he is increasingly changing the way Washington looks.

The East Wing was one of the last pieces of the White House complex he hadn’t yet started to make over in his own image. The Oval Office is dripping in gold and so is the Cabinet Room. The Rose Garden looks like Mar-a-Lago. There are massive flag poles in the backyard and in the front. He’s been tweaking the White House residence upstairs, too. He’s directing renovations at the Kennedy Center, and now he wants an Arc de Triomphe-style arch built on the other side of the Potomac.

It has been referred to as the "people's house." But as with everything else in the country trump is trying to rebrand it. Words can not express my disgust.

It's apparently not enough that he's tearing down the legal and ethical foundation of the country. He wants to destroy a physical manifestation of our history as well.
Your ok with giving the country away to illegals, but you expect us to care that you care about this?

Did you watch the CNN video I included?
Yes, I did and it's BS.
No? Then you must be a ....
Sure...........

George W. Bush is the president who made that request in 2008 and congress approved allocated the $$$ and approved by the General Services Administration.

The work was to take place over for years for electrical, plumbing and underground water lines.
Some were over 100 years old.

Be thankful severe stupidity is not painful to those who are afflicted....

"The White House Big Dig was the name used in press reports to describe a multi-year construction project at the White House that began in September 2010 and temporarily concluded in 2012, with a second phase planned for the future. According to the General Services Administration (GSA), the $376-million project, which involved a multi-story excavation adjacent to the West Wing, was to replace electrical wiring and update air conditioning. A second phase of the project, with an unannounced start date, will involve a similar excavation adjacent to the East Wing. Funds for the White House Big Dig were allocated by a congressional appropriation made in late 2001."

Nov 12, 2021 — Wollman Rink fell into disrepair under the Trump Organization. This weekend, it reopens with a new look.

The New York City ice rink run by former President Donald Trump’s business organization was a visible wreck. Located in Central Park, Wollman Rink has been a staple of wintertime recreation in the city since 1950, but in the years since being taken over by the Trump Organization in the 1980s, maintenance had fallen by the wayside.

The clubhouse where you rent skates and lockers was a jumble of crowded spaces and decaying storage facilities. Some of its bathrooms lacked basic plumbing. Its exterior trellis was falling apart. Of more than 50 doors in the clubhouse and concessions building, only three worked.

Gushee says updating the rink was no small task. “It was run with very little maintenance, no [capital expenditures] for many, many years. So it went downhill,” he says. “We basically gutted the inside.”
