The metaphorical wrecking ball analogy takes a physical form.

How is this a Rubber Room thread?

Do I have any reason not to?
Its a fair question, I see its actually in CE
I think I was reading the op.
Playing chess with a pigeon.
No matter how you move the pigeon will strut around the chessboard knocking over all the pieces, only to declare victory.
No matter what you say they will deny.
They truly in their hearts believe that this a putin funded illuminati haarp funded
Ballroom to be named after adolph hitler.

In some ways, they named it first.
This is sustained with continued arguments of
no its not !

The White House does not belong to Donald Trump, as you assert.

It is the people’s house. Not the wannbe king.

It was meant to stand in co trust to the Imperial palaces of Europe, not become one.
~~~~~~>
Technically it's the People's House that the president is allowed to reside within while in office.
However since 1792 there have been renovation to the White house on numerous occasions by residing Presidents of different political Parties.
The White House has undergone numerous modifications and renovations since its construction, with four major instances marked in its history: 1792, 1817, 1902, and 1952. Additionally, many presidents have made various changes and updates throughout the years.
Means Trump is in the same category as the folks who stole Napoleon's crown jewels from the Louvre, and are likely to recut / destroy those priceless works of art.
Clinton's were the first whitehouse bling ring,
Taking home silverware dishes furniture,
all sorts of lovely parting gifts at the door.
Then they had to return the "gifts",
then they had to
come stand in line at Walmart
with the rest of us, which is where I met Obama.
First of all Trump isn't tearing the white house down he's renovating it. Second of all he lives there, and third of all the last time I checked he's the president of The United States and he can do whatever he wants to as he's not breaking any laws.
I think that it looks beautiful.
Trump used to own the plaza nyc.
Here's a look at Hillary
What difference does it make.
Part of White House Is Reduced to Rubble. Trump’s Ballroom Will Rise in Its Place.
The facade of the East Wing of the White House came crumbling down on Monday as construction began on President Trump’s 90,000-square-foot ballroom, a project that will transform one of the most recognizable buildings in the world and nearly double the size of the existing structure.
Having already changed so much about the way Washington works, he is increasingly changing the way Washington looks.
The East Wing was one of the last pieces of the White House complex he hadn’t yet started to make over in his own image. The Oval Office is dripping in gold and so is the Cabinet Room. The Rose Garden looks like Mar-a-Lago. There are massive flag poles in the backyard and in the front. He’s been tweaking the White House residence upstairs, too. He’s directing renovations at the Kennedy Center, and now he wants an Arc de Triomphe-style arch built on the other side of the Potomac.
It has been referred to as the "people's house." But as with everything else in the country trump is trying to rebrand it. Words can not express my disgust.
It's apparently not enough that he's tearing down the legal and ethical foundation of the country. He wants to destroy a physical manifestation of our history as well.
I noticed that too
the guardian said there was a wrecking ball at the White House.
He is tenet, not an owner. He needs the permission from Congress before doing any damn thing. The White House belongs to people NOT him.
You can't come up with a link saying that he needs Congressional approval. However, I can come up with a link saying that any President doesn't need their approval. LINK So, you can dislike it all you want, but you can't make the claim that it's illegal and be right. You can have your own opinions, but you can't have your own facts.
That's not what a wrecking ball is.
she'll never bring the girls from the view there.
I’m sure it will be a spectacular ballroom filled with plenty of gold and marble and as utterly tasteless and ostentatious as can be in the typical Trump style.
Is there any such thing ?
Developers seem to be able to bulldoze historic buildings on a whim.
The white house does give off a plantation vibe but in american terms it is a historic building.
There must be some protection ?
https://edition.cnn.com/2025/10/22/politics/white-house-east-wing-demolition-trump
Historic buildings are often protected by municipal law/zoning code or state law.
I still maintain the WH needs a small gun range under it, if there isn't one. :)
The fact is that, whether or not you appreciate his style or not, a lot of leaders from other countries are impressed by gold and marble.
Trump is so much smarter than the Other Side it's hilarious.
