On a hill
A meal worth dying for.
Not really bad, but not really that good either.
The storyline could have been good, if it was written better.
The characters could have been good, if they were interesting.
The only good thing about the movie was Anya Taylor Joy. Just looking at her was the best thing.

The movie seemed directionless. The plot wasn't clear, and the ending was completely stupid.

But Anya Taylor Joy is hot.

seems to be based on noma...a Norwegian island restaurant, i enjoyed it..hubby did not..will ya ever look at s'mores the same way again?

That ending was so bad it was comical.
What a waste of two otherwise very good actors... Ralph Fiennes and Anya Joy.

I disagree. I found the characters very developed and interesting. Ana Taylor was great. Ralph was likable and devious. Nick Hoult was pretty great in a not great way. Some of the characters were caricatures but it’s a short movie.

I thought the ending was good but a little off putting. Message seemed to be around the death of art for commercialism maybe?

It was original I’ll say that.

I think the resign of the customers to die for their art sins was a bit much of a leap but the whole thing was supposed to be over the top. It definitely wasn’t a realistic horror but a black comedy. I think.

I will agree it was original, perhaps because other people looked at the script and said... uh.. NO.
Most of the characters were like a parody of a character. Silly and dumb.
The character played by Janet McTeer (the food critic) was the only one besides the main two that was okay. Her beta husband was so overdone they might as well of just made his character a cartoon.

Yes. They defiantly were caricatures.

Anya Taylor Joy is incredible. I loved her in Emma but wow...in the Queen's Gambit she was luminous. She's only 26 and God willing, she will make many movies/series to come.

That was her breakout role for sure.
She is on par with Jennifer Lawrence... super beautiful with matching talent.

well...fwiw I think she's much better than Jennifer Lawrence. Probably best in her generation I would say. But then, she made a Jane Austen work, so...I'm biased

Jennifer Lawrence best work was waay back in a movie called "Winter's Bone" back in 2010.
And again in Silver Linings Playbook. but admittedly I was way more enamored with how she looked in that movie than the character she played. Which was very good actually.
Hopefully Anya gets to play more roles that match her talent. Unlike this movie.
