The Medicaid Cuts in "The Big Beautiful Bill": An Honest Discussion

When Trump cuts Medicaid for your mentally ill ass, you will not be a happy camper.

That's an understatement.
If the program was kept stringent and not constantly expanded, this would not be an issue. Medicine has gotten expensive. Tell us why.

Can you prove that? Or do I need to embarrass you like I just did in the other thread just a few minutes ago?
The fact that you believe anything Trump says proves that you are a mentally ill MAGA imbecile.

You ready to get a job to stay eligible for Medicaid, dumb ****???

Poor mentally ill MAGA simp....believes he can "embarrass" people. LOL.

Now you're just attacking me blindly. I thought I was the one who's mentally ill?

Move along now.

This one is huge, and makes no damn sense whatsoever.

Sec. 112202. Disallowing premium tax credit in case of certain coverage enrolled in during special enrollment period.Current Law: Under current law, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has provided for a continuous special enrollment period available to individuals with a projected annual household income no greater than 150 percent of the federal poverty line.Provision: This provision prohibits individuals from receiving premium tax credits if they enroll in health coverage on the Exchange through a special enrollment period associated with their income.

Open enrollment for the ACA runs from November 1 to January 15 with coverage starting on January 1, or February 1 if you enroll after January 1. But hey, suppose you want to retire early, before Medicare. If you lose credible coverage, like an employer provided plan, you have a special enrollment period to sign up for an ACA plan. And you can qualify for a subsidy to help you pay the premium if you make less than 300% of the poverty level. Tell me, why would you refuse a premium tax credit simply because someone used a special enrollment period? I mean that is just asinine.

The bill itself is 940 pages long, and the text of which was released not just a few days ago. Through my observations, I have found that not many on this board are keen on sitting down to read something 940 pages long.

Before the release, skeptics had been speculating that "$700 billion" would be cut from Medicaid, portraying it as an arbitrary, singular cut to the program. However, the cuts of $700 billion are spaced out over 10 years, through stricter work and eligibility requirements. The Senate version proposes deeper cuts. To say there are no cuts would be dishonest, though it should be noted that illegal immigrants do get something called "emergency Medicaid."

So, I'll ask you, if you think one way or another, cite provisions (pro or con) concerning the cuts. Surely you're able to do that, right? I'll leave you to it.
It was all typical political lies. And the Democrats do it way-way-way-way more than Republicans.

I seldom disagree with you but this time, you're just misguided.

Personally, I am happy for you that you may not know many, if any, people that need Medicaid.

There's a lot more of it than you think. Nursing Homes for one. People who can't afford extremely expensive procedures or medications, people down on their luck, people that lost Husbands or Wives and already spent all their money on trying to save them.......

It's a long list

Long list. And anyone who shows up to the Emergency room must be treated. Every gangbanger gushot, illegal giving birth, every carcrash running from Police, death row, convict fights on & on..

The only ones not covered are those with insurance paying $10K deductibles, which 150 million never reach that amount. All they get is “negotiated prices?” Or so it seemed. I always seemed to pay it all every year since the ACA.

Yeah, just kick the old people out of the nursing homes and let them die on the street. Or better yet, let's have some kind of maximum age. I don't know, maybe 75. You live that long, well you have to show up for the "Carousal", a renewal ceremony. If you don't show up, the government can send a "sandman" after you.

******* idiot.

Can you at least stop the fraud and the ballot dumps filled out by deep state nurses like 2020. Thanks. Winston kills.

But totally eliminating Medicaid does. And that is just it. That is what it seems people don't understand. I mean for real, this is the continuation of the Trump tax cuts, which didn't compensate the average American for his increased spending due to tariffs in Trump's first term. Those cuts benefited the wealth to a much greater extent than most Americans, and continuing them only exacerbates that trend.

But how they going to pay for it? Cut Medicaid. Dammit, half of all Medicaid spending, HALF OF ALL SPENDING, goes to pay for nursing home care. And the flip side of that. Medicaid pays for half of all Long Term Care services. The elderly, the frail, the disabled, with Medicaid footing the bill. In many cases, these elderly people have already exhausted their life savings. Now, they have nothing, get maybe forty dollars a month to spend on incidentals, the rest of their Social Security check, even disability payments, confiscated by the nursing home, Medicaid just pays the difference.

It is these people, THESE PEOPLE, that Trump and his supporters want to shoulder the "cost" of their complete avarice. You send Trump down here to see me, you send Elon down here, you send me these senators and representatives down here, we will go on a little trip. Tag along with Mom for a couple of days. Give them their feel of nursing homes as Mom visits them, almost every day, to see a friend, a cousin, a former classmate.

It is absolutely unconscionable, disturbing actually. And the no tax on tips, oh shit, just like I expected, Sec. 110101. Yep, no tax on tips, a top line deduction, and lops the FICA right off. Even gives credit to the employer. But that server, boy howdy, going to be hard to collect much of a Social Security retirement check on $2.13 an hour. Next section is the overtime part and honestly, I can't look at it right now. Figured that one out too. Project 2025.

A lot of old people will find themselves on the street and families having to take out huge loans if the old person is lucky to have a family that is capable.

People will die because of this bill.
