Media pundits of every persuasion sang Hallelujah when Hillary Clinton shined like a bright sun while four tiny asteroids revolved around her warmth.

Her performance at the first Democratic presidential debate was so commanding that even her greatest vulnerability . . .

“Performance” is the right word

The word from the choir is that Hillary’s backup singers did not belong on the same stage with a superior debater. First off, there was no debate. They all sang the same tune. From all accounts, the only thing missing was a synchronized dance routine.

Secondly, how the hell did a criminal act end up in Clinton’s plus column?

— the lingering controversy over her private email practices as secretary of state — ended up redounding to her benefit.

Democratic Debate Turns Hillary Clinton’s Way After Months of Difficulties

Hillary Clinton is not a great debater by any stretch of the imagination. She is a born actress, and that is how she should be judged. Put her in perspective this way:

A few Hollywood stars can be the most degenerate, vicious, meanspirited human beings on the planet, but the public only sees them as the characters they play. Even those actors who play villains are admired because everybody knows they are really nice people playing reprehensible characters. They are never seen off-camera.

NOTE: The studio system shielded stars with stories about their wonderful private lives and loving relationships. Television replaced the studio system in that stars did their own public relations guesting on TV shows. Projecting the great guy image between commercials was all that is required. In short: Television and Hillary Clinton were made for each other. Also note that a show biz personality getting the amount of face time Clinton gets would be the most famous entertainment industry star in history.

In Clinton’s case she is never seen off-stage; so the public assumes she is not playing a part. In fact, no decent man or woman would associate with her.

Bottom line: There is one truth that determined Clinton’s public persona since she was in charge of bimbo eruptions: “I’m screwed if they ever see me off-stage.” Hillary Clinton knows damn well that she better be judged by how well she played the part rather than being judged for her crimes, or the policies she advocates.

Finally, Madison Avenue salesmen know that they cannot sell a campaign to advertisers who do not believe him. That is why politicians and their media mouthpieces work very hard selling the salesman first. Once enough voters trust the politician, every defective, destructive policy, can be sold with impunity. Look at how well it worked with the current president before you believe anything Hillary Clinton tells you.
