The Japs Attacked Pearl Harbor - Dec. 7th. Everybody Remember ?

There would have been no invasion of of France
However, Africa would have likely fallen to the UK, and the UK would have kept up its bombing campaign against German industry.

Maybe. No US means not having to move more divisions to France, which means more divisions Available for Africa.

Also, would the Brits have been able to fight for the Med without the vast increase in US supplies after December 7th were they on their own?

1940-1942 Germany did not keep very many line divisions in France as they knew there could be no invasion.
Absent the US entry, from 1942 on, if a line division frees up, it like;y goes to the USSR.

There isnt any reason to think the US would not have still sent supplies to the UK/USSR - if the US isn't massively equipping herself, she has extra.

Yes, but they did keep some in the Home Army in case they had to move them to France.

Not in the amounts given after they had war declared on them by Germany. US popular opinion was still to stay out of the war.

My wonder is if the Soviet counteroffensive at Stalingrad would have been as effective without the US materiel support given from January 1942 until Operation Uranus and then after.

The only reason why the Japs having attacked Pearl Harbor was mentioned in the title and OP, was to point out and focus on the foolishness of people who now have no concern about Hamas attacking the US - not to initiate a series of posts about World War 2. All those posts are OFF TOPIC.

The attack on Pearl Harbor allowed the U.S. to get into the "real war" In Europe and FDR never let America forget it as long as he was alive. We lost about 3,000 Americans on the Day of Infamy and that was roughly the same number as we lost on 9-11. Democrats and the media supported the war Europe and the Pacific after Pearl Harbor but they weren't so sure about 9-11. For the record there was no National Intelligence network available prior to Pearl Harbor and there wasn't much "intelligence" prior to 9-11.

But the thread is about 2023 and 2024, and Hamas.

see post # 66.

One doesnt need "intelligence" to know that Hamas hates the US.....that they are extremely dangerous terrorists, and the Mexican border is wide open to anyone wanting to come here.

Wheeler was hit heavy. General Short was to say the least was for lack of a better word short sighted. In one fell swope Japan destroyed the U.S. Army Air Corps in Hawaii.

Totally agree on the U.S., we destroyed both Afghanistan and Iraq for other reason than to do so.
With Afghanistan would also include the Soviet invasion in 1979?

2 days from now is Dec 7th - the "day that will live in infamy", President Roosevelt described it. Thousands of Americans were killed, rivaled in size and horror only by 9/11. Attacks against the US of major magnitude on US soil are rare, and as such are unforgettable.

Why this is relevant now, is because just as it was with the Japs in 1941, it is exactly that way now with Hamas and others of their ilk, with the danger that they pose. The combination of the Israel-Hamas War, aid being given to Israel, US warships in the Mediterranean, and the wide open Mexican border is a powder keg of combustible ingredients. It opens up the strong possibility, if not probability, of chemical, biological, and/or nuclear attacks, in US cities, that could kill millions of Americans.

Making the whole situation worse is, instead of have a strong, protective president, inspiring fear & respect from enemies around the world (as it was with President Trump), we now have a weak, fearful, senile, idiot president, with his brains falling out of his head, thereby encouraging enemies to attack us.

It's Pearl Harbor day right now. It's a bit before the time the attack happened at, though.

8 AM Hawaiian time? Probably about noon or later here. 1 o'clock.

Yeah, it won't be Pearl Harbor Day for about 5 more hours in Hawaii.

It's still the 6th there.
