The Iowa Pollster lawsuit

This one I find mystifying inasmuch as polls are simply notoriously unrealiable. Polls are an extension of statistics and statistics is the only branch of math based pretty much on garbage IMO.

Sure there's lots of fancy Greek letters and even calculus! But it's all chasing the unknown and the assumption that the base sample is reliable which is in and of itself simply ludicrous.

Given the above I can't see how anyone can make a case. If they do....there will have to be some damn good evidence of purposeful malfeasance.

Not saying it's impossible....I have often thought that polls are for sale to the highest bidder....but how to prove?

Some more Trump lawyers are probably going to be sanctioned for filing frivolous pleadings.

A silly lawsuit over a bogus poll that anyone with any sense knew was bogus.

Trump has a lot of lower hanging fruit to go after than this joke.

He probably realizes that the Des Moines register doesn't have the resources of CNN, and might settle quickly.

This is where ABC did the media a disservice by settling a winnable case easily.

Except that the ABC case wasn't winnable....Stepsonallofus ignored direct orders to not call Trump a rapist, for exactly the reason that they settled: open-and-shut libel.

What's "winnable" about the case from ABC's perspective? They slandered the President, made up lies about him being a rapist, and they had to pay.

Actually, it was very winnable. The distinction between rape and sexual assault is pretty much meaningless.

Is t there a guy currently in jail for tweeting that you could vote for Hillary by texting him?

Except he was found liable for sexual assault.

And had to pay 88 million dollars.

He wasn't slandered at all.

He wasn't found liable for sexual assault at all. He was found liable for "defamation".

And he hasn't had to pay 5 cents as of yet as the matter is still under appeal.

The defamation was claiming the sexual assault didn't happen, when the Jury clearly believed it did.

Guy, you can't worm your way out of this. Trump lost this point twice in court. He'd have lost it again if Disney, who pisses away millions of dollars on shows no one watches, hadn't decided to cut their losses.

Disney spent $100 Million dollars for the distribution rights to Doctor Who, a show people stopped watching about a decade ago.

They pissed away $180 million dollars on The Acolyte, a Star Wars show no one watched, and was roundly mocked for Lesbian Space Witches.

They are spending $300 million dollars on a Snow White movie that will crash and burn next year, largely because the Actress can't keep her ******* mouth shut.

$15 million to make Trump go away is money they find in the couch cushions, but it shows the problem of the News Media being owned by bigger corporations who just see a News Division as an expense.

When E. Jean Carroll and Donald Trump went to trial last spring over her sexual assault allegations, a nine-person civil jury found that Trump sexually abused her but that she failed to prove he raped her.
In New York, rape is defined as penetration of the vagina with a penis. Anything less is not legally rape.
The former president made hay of that distinction when he sued Carroll in June, alleging Carroll defamed him by saying she was raped in a media interview after the verdict.
The counterattack was quickly shot down.
Federal Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled in August that the jury verdict showed Carroll's rape allegation was "substantially true" and dismissed the counterclaim.
In May, Carroll was awarded a combined $5 million for sexual abuse and for a 2022 denial by Trump that the jury concluded defamed Carroll. On Friday, a jury in a separate civil defamation case awarded Carroll $83.3 million for two lengthy denials Trump made in 2019, soon after Carroll went public with her story.

How hypocritical of MAGA cult members ranting about delays in enacting the death penalty but are overjoyed when their orange god delays enactment of court rulings against him.

Most of the polls were cheap attempts to make it look as though Harris was in the lead when she was way behind but it's hard to prove.
