I once got an invite to a "private" forum which was a training ground for aspiring progressive politicians.. My role was as a punching bag and coach for them to get them to deliver CLEAR messages... So -- for about 18 months, I had my own private stash of pedigreed progressive socialists.. LOL... GREAT experience.. Some now famous people involved..

But, don't you see Flac, by your own admission, "professional" socialists like any other political persuasion, are not honest individuals. These are not people who are representing their views, well groomed or otherwise, they are being engineered, designed, by some one or group in the background to have a specific view presented in a specific way, in order to be most effective at relating to, reaching, and winning over other weak-minded people, for no true, honest, strong-minded person of themselves would ever let themselves be engineered to some predetermined mold much less fall prey to scripted, engineered, weaponized politics, which is exactly what these people are. I've seen such signs here in a few people, and because of that, these were among some of the first I put back on permanent Ignore, because there is nothing to be gained by giving them a platform, a voice-- -- -- the worst possible fate for them is to have no audience at all, for everyone to put them on Ignore, because ultimately, what these people want most is ATTENTION.

I love Bernie BECAUSE he's never hidden his core principles and beliefs.. That's MUCH preferred to folks who shift with the breeze and spout off on Capitalism, redistribution, and micromanaging the economy when they haven't really LIVED that life conviction...

I can agree on Bernie on about 1/2 of what he believes... Just not the parts that require math or economics or logic....

These folks that are TRULY committed to Communism or Socialism got that way by a mere ACADEMIC understanding of the "geniuses" who developed those systems, but never had to IMPLEMENT it...

So I don't think there's a bunch of puppet-masters pulling their strings.. They've just never understood the real basis of Capitalism or economics or how govts need to be more AUTHORITARIAN to implement either hard socialism or Communism.. Just sugar coating it and calling it "Democratic Socialism" is dishonest...

And in Bernie's case, even after he's cast lot with a full stable of promising socialist dictators who have DESTROYED their countries for all of his life, he's somehow unable to LEARN any lessons about dangers of CENTRALIZED power that are required to make socialist wet dreams pleasant and rewarding..

After talking to you for years, you mean, you haven't straightened them all out? How could they still support untested, unproven models, or worse, leaders who have ravished and destroyed whole societies? (ANS: These people all have bad wiring in their brains). The weakness of capitalism is singular: it rest upon having MORALITY as its regulator. The ethics of serving the common, greater good.

The failing of pure socialism is obvious: it never works. It falls apart as soon as they run out of someone else's money, which leads to corruption and the eventual centralization of the powerful hoarding what is left of the wealth all to themselves.

Therefore, pure socialism or democracy are neither a STABLE form of government, as neither is a monarchy or anarchy: ALL must eventually transition to one of two stable forms of government:

• Either an Oligarchy ruled by a small group of the powerful Elite.

• Or a Representative Republic ruled by Law.

The later is the only system which makes people truly free, but only through the empowerment and active participation of the population to be involved. As soon as the population becomes fat, dumb and lazy as we have going on today, law breaks down, the Elite seize power, and we are back to a benign Oligarchy.

3. Dictatorship is predicated on the idea that the people are the body, a labor force of the illiterate needing the DIRECTION of one, central mind. Really saves on education costs much less sleepless nights worrying whether the people will do the right things!
4. The beauty of capitalism is that if Bill Gates makes 10,000 times more than the national average, it doesn't take one bite out of your slice of the pie, it just makes the pie bigger for all!
5. Romance to an ideal because of its appeal due to simplicity or architectural balance is, much like Johannes Kepler's love for the harmony of the cosmos as a set of interlocking geometric shapes, is at best wrongheaded because it is anti-science: it puts the conclusion ahead of the evidence that instead of the conclusion flowing from the acquired set of facts (reality), it attempts to change reality to fit the desired outcome.

AND THEREIN LIES THE RUB. It's like a puzzle that you have finally figured out and all the pieces fall finally into place-- -- -- -- until you turn around to realize there is one piece left over.

So long as you have some higher, central, all-powerful authority dictating to others total control over their lives to manage risk, limit want, determine health, and fix income, you have only distributed risk rather than eliminate it, worse, you magnify want and discontent by making aspiration unobtainable, destroy health by assigning it a fixed value, and abolish ambition, competition and excellence by removing incentive.

For the perfection of socialism lies only in the mechanization of society, which by its very nature, destroys the human spirit which is at the heart of what drives human society in the first place.
