Yep. Any cover up is bad, though (especially in this context), so we need the full story. It seemed obvious at the time that the Dems were ignoring the decline, but it wasn't exactly a secret.

What I don't understand is the surprise. The outrage. Did we not ALL see (and comment on) his decline? And that debate where he looked lost and confused is pretty much what started the whole "he can't run" thing.

I suspect history will look back at his decision to run again as a turning point in this country. And not in a good way.

Just imagine had democrats used that reason in considering whether to:

1. Try to impeach a president over his just calling Ukraine to check up on how big a crook Biden really was.
2. Try to impeach Trump a week from leaving office anyway after having stole the election from him to frame him because some of his supporters held a rally at the capital in support of checking deeper into the 2020 election before certifying it settled.
3. Try to sue Trump for 486 million dollars and take his corporations for paying back a bank loan on time.
4. Try to sue Trump for a 40 year old expired and settled misdemeanor, and make it 34 felonies.
5. Ransack his house looking for papers which the WH gave him free and clear upon leaving office.
6. Sue Trump for pushing people to count every vote in trying to win an election.

Most of the time those claims ARE grandstanding but in this case there were people in this White House who ignored Democracy and seized power for themselves! I'd like to know who those people were and have them made an example of so nobody dares to do it again. THAT would be the "purpose" of this hearing!
