"Average singer" and "pleasant to listen to" are, in my world, contradictions. She knows how to use her voice to perfectly communicate her way-above-average storytelling capabilities. She captures the emotion and atmosphere perfectly.

Successful, ambitious and talented. A great role model that never stops striving for exellence. A true champion or for those who have read Tim Grover, a real "Cleaner".

To be clear I don't think she's an "average" singer--she's well above that. But frankly I often find listening to Adele or Kelly Clarkson, etc, exhausting. It's all MY VOICE! LISTEN TO MY VOICE! Whereas Taylor's is, but design and consideration, pleasant and pretty but not the main focus.

Taylor Swift has a career stretching three decades. She is not far from hiting the 50-mark.

Her influence will be timeless.

Not everyone has to like the same music, but I compleyely disagree about her voice not being captivating. As Sue has pointed out above it is exactly that.

It falls well in line with the music and style and more importantly with the emotion and story being communicated.

Don't speak what you don't know. Her range is about A2 to about G5 or so. Most adults have a range of seven notes total.
