What people protest is when JUSTICE IS NOT DONE. No one is protesting for the woman stabbed in Raleigh by an immigrant on the train cuz the perp was prosecuted. Good and Pretti's murders are being swept under the rug. No investigations. No prosecution.

Except no one "protected" him. ICE put a detainer on him in 2020, and never bothered to pick him up all the other times that he got arrested.

Here's the dirty little secret about ICE. What ICE expects is for jails to hold immigrants for them, even if they have no intention of deporting that person. Because their countries of origin are in no hurry to take them back.

And most counties simply don't have the budget to hold criminals on petty charges indefinitely. So they plead them out for time served (which is what happened here) and move on.
