...that faithful followers of Christ rely on the scriptures for doctrine whereas Catholicism does not and creates its own doctrines, even if they contradict what Christ taught.

As well, faithful followers of Christ believe that his crucifixion paid our debt and that if we put our faith and trust in him and obey his commandments, we will go to Heaven when we die. Catholicism, however, teaches that even a faithful follower of Christ is going straight to Hell unless they are an active member of the Catholic Church. That's a heresy, of course.

I can write a book about all of the heretical teachings of the Catholic Church but I consider the above to be the biggest differences between faithful followers of Christ and Catholicism.

Don’t be a Catholic. Problem solved.

that would be all desert dwellers their association w/ the 4th century christian bible ... more than who was the 1st century itinerant jesus and the 1st century events and the true personification from the heavens as their guide for humanity.

there is never to come a messiah from the heavens and the repudiation of judaism false commandments et al -

liberation theology, self determination the true message made by jesus during that time when accomplished, judgement and admission to the everlasting. forgotten in the 4th century instead their own persuasions.

The Catholic Church ! Please note: I did not say they wrote it.

What do you use....the King James ? That is the dude who had it rewritten to suit himself.

BTW: When the word Catholic (not sure what language-since it is a translation) was first use it meant anyone who followed and believed in the powers of Jesus. It translates to UNIVERSAL.

You should tell that to the lectors in my church who read scripture at every Mass, and all the Catholics who pray the Rosary, which is packed full of scripture.

The Rosary is certainly NOT from God nor Mary. As a former Catholic who has attended countless Masses I know that they share some scriptures while avoiding others, such as Jesus's admonition to not give any man the religious title of "Father". A number of Catholic Church’s doctrines conflict with what Jesus and the Apostles taught. Their greatest heresy is their teaching that non-Catholics are going to Hell. Practicing Catholics should abandon that worldly organization and stick to what was taught by Jesus and the Apostles.

The early Church compiled scriptures into one book that we call "The Bible", but they didn't write the scriptures.

You are 100% correct ! Around the end or the 3ed or beginning of the 4th century the Bishops got together and picked the scriptures out...to go into it. They were given to St Jerome (who spoke like 6+ languages) and he wrote it down.

BTW: That is why some churches believe in "The Missing Books" as part of the Bible.

I can refute just about anything you write !

As a Catholic...I do not believe you go strait to hell. I never even heard that before.

Last week some religious gun nut from Cali tried to tell me Catholic worship saints.

He did not know I was a Catholic and I told him that is wrong.

He ended up going nuts on me. I mean I thought I was going to have to call the coppers and get a mental health check. I went over to his house to show where in the Bible it said to pray with saints. These are Jesus's words on the matter !

I suggest you read the Apostles Creed...written by the Harps in the second century.

The Apostles' Creed is a concise Catholic statement of core Christian beliefs, summarizing the faith of the early Church and focusing on the Trinity—God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit—along with key aspects of salvation and the Church itself. Though its exact origin is debated, it functions as a foundational profession of faith, originally used for baptismal instruction and now recited as a personal affirmation of belief and a summary of the unchanging Christian dogma.
