The FDR speech in 1936 at the unveiling of the magnificent Robert E Lee memorial statue.

Everything in the U.S.A. in that period was poisoned by Jim Crow apartheid in the South and profound racism throughout the nation.

The war against fascism and Hitler’s race theories embarrassed the nation and reminded it of the unfinished business of the American Revolution and Civil War.

The Civil Rights Movement’s successes were also won not only by heroic black struggles after the war, but by the American elites and politicians like Kennedy and Johnson, who realized belatedly that they needed to end Southern apartheid if they were to have any chance to win the Cold War with the USSR in Africa and the Third World.

*Note: The article above shows how the REMOVAL of that very statue, and countless others like it, is now a very real part of American history. Unfortunately, FDR’s granddaughter Laura, a noted artist, reports that her montage entitled "Virgil, Quick, Come See" — showing that statue being removed — was just CENSORED from her current exhibition, presented by the Dallas Historical Society,

FDR was one of our greatest Presidents — but he was not a socialist.

FDR never vigorously opposed and confronted Southern apartheid. If ANY national politician of EITHER party did that in those days … his career would be FINISHED. Did you not know this? Did they not teach you this in school? Does all this really surprise you?

I have major issues with FDR, but he was honest and forthright in this memorial speech praising Robert E Lee as a great man and a great American. What has happened to today's Democrats?

When you are talking about what has happened to today’s Democrats you must be talking about the days of JFK ,the greatest president of the 20 the century because your sure not talking about that mother fucker commie FDR,that’s for sure,In fact he would be proud of ANTIFA and BLM now if he were still alive. :abgg2q.jpg:

The one that laid the groundwork for our current Socialist Democrats, of course. That would be FDR and not the Southern gentleman forced into a role he did not want.
        That was why the CIA killed kennedy sense he did not follow the socialists plans of the Democrat party,he was a democrat in name only, not part of the corrupt two party system.

Robert E. Lee was a traitor that supported Slavery. That is evil!
Not nearly as evil as FDR.

FDR actually reinstituted slavery in America and enslaved millions of innocent Americans. He was by far the biggest slave driver in U.S. history. And military conscription is a particularly abhorrent form of slavery.

FDR was one evil motherfucker and the worst president in U.S. history.

Robert E. Lee was great man. He never approved of the war and never owned a slave. He was more loyal to Virginia than the nation. He would never betray his home. He was irreplaceable after the war in peacemaking. Once the Civil War was over did not mean the end of hostilities. General Lee was tireless in creating peace.

It will be up to Historians and those who believe in truth to make sure accurate history is not lost.

A lovely article by one of my favorite writers:

Dats right!

When you say LBJ was a Civil Right hero does that include when he stymied Ikes near identical Civil Rights bill in the Senate for 7 years calling it the "****** Bill" or when he said of his appointment of Thurgood Marshall "when I appoint a ****** to the bench, I want everybody to know he's a ******."?
