The Democrats' Judicial Resistance Strikes Again

"Judge orders Bovino to appear in court every weekday to report on immigration enforcement

The Border Patrol chief must himself wear a body camera and turn over all agents’ use of force reports by Friday, the judge added.

CHICAGO — U.S. Border Patrol chief Gregory Bovino, who appeared in federal court on Tuesday sporting his trademark dark green uniform and crew cut, seems likely to become a regular presence there.

U.S. District Court judge Sara Ellis ordered Bovino, the Border Patrol sector chief overseeing the agency’s operations in Chicago and previously in Los Angeles, to appear in federal court each weekday at 6 p.m. to report on daily immigration operations. She also ordered that he turn over all agents’ use of force reports from Sept. 2 through Oct. 25, as well as the bodycam footage corresponding to those reports, by Friday.

The exchange highlights the mounting tensions between immigration officials and residents across the Chicago area, particularly after Bovino and immigration agents were captured on video and in photos deploying chemical agents in numerous residential neighborhoods. Attorneys argued the actions were in violation of Ellis’ temporary restraining order issued on Oct. 6 which said immigration authorities must curb the use of tear gas and chemical agents when they are not under threat, especially where the general public could be affected.

In that order Ellis also instructed immigration agents to wear — and turn on — their body cameras."

The Democrats' judicial resistance continues. This is insane harassment of the executive branch.
JFC, who elected her to the executive? Insane.

I concede that the rogue judges are well protected

But they are playing with fire as they abuse their authority
Being wrong does not constitute an abuse of authority. However, in this case, I think an appeals court will make her wish she had not done so. Also, the Chief Justice can impose limits on the cases she sees and how many, effectively neutering her powers. In this case it might be warranted.

Since when do federal agents have to answer to a district court judge?

There is no excuse for being wrong

Is she stupid?

Judges are supposed to know the law

When a higher court finds that she does not know or understand the law then why keep her on the job?

Well, first we have to establish did she do anything wrong? ICE violated a previous ruling that she issued after ICE was sued for using tear gas in residential areas. Whether or not that first ruling was legal is yet to be determined. ICE should have appealed to a higher court, I don't know if they did or not, but when the ruling was violated, the judge called the Chief in. There was still nothing listed about any appeal from what I read, but I may have missed it. If you don't like a judge's ruling and you violate it, you best be able to defend that to a higher court and seek removal of those additional requirements, which on face value seem excessive.

This was always the risk when Trump used the national guard in cities.and he probably realizes it cost him politically which is why he decided to not send them into San Fran after speaking to the mayor there. ICE is different in that they are specifically seeking foreigns illegally in America though some risks exist it is far lower than the national guard scenario.

We have turned s corner when unelected entry level federal judges can micromanage the daily activities of the entire executive branch

I’m not a lawyer and do not intend to litigate legal cases on this forum

But a law degree is not needed to acknowledge that fed judges who are ignorant of the law should not be judges

A little hyperbolic, don't you think? The entire executive branch?

Exactly how is this judge ignorant of the law? Which law?

If you want to make a point, please ensure your ducks are in a row.

I agree her actions are excessive, but a higher court has to make that determination. The proper response is to appeal her decision to a higher court and have it overturned.

0.5% of the judiciary has taken it upon their feely selves to determine the President Cannot Preside

You mean when the the court ordered them to stop using tear gas, after they inadvertently gassed a bunch of American kids while allegedly illegally targeting protesters with the chemical agent, this Bovino fellow was recorded contemptuously throwing a tear gas canister.

It's obvious the lawless party, the Neo GOP, wants no accountability for the tactics used by their goon squads.

After her ruling is overturned she should be removed from the bench for incompetence ir abuse of authority

Take your pick

No judge can direct any police force to never disburse tear gas

How many times have I told you that would require impeachment and that is not happening! When will you push the "I believe" button?

Do often have these illegal fantasies?
We need to hold partisan lib judges accountable for judicial obstruction

If that means impeachment thats ok with me

If even one judge is removed from their cushy lifetime appointment the others will behave themselves
