But of course these deaths don't matter since they don't fit in with the left's narrative.

Doctors at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek say they have seen more deaths by suicide during this quarantine period than deaths from the COVID-19 virus.

ALNUT CREEK, Calif. (KGO) -- Doctors at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek say they have seen more deaths by suicide during this quarantine period than deaths from the COVID-19 virus.

WATCH: 'Your Mental Health: A Bay Area Conversation,' virtual town hall addressing COVID-19 impact on mental health

The head of the trauma in the department believes mental health is suffering so much, it is time to end the shelter-in-place order.

"Personally I think it's time," said Dr. Mike deBoisblanc. "I think, originally, this (the shelter-in-place order) was put in place to flatten the curve and to make sure hospitals have the resources to take care of COVID patients. We have the current resources to do that and our other community health is suffering."

The numbers are unprecedented, he said.

"We've never seen numbers like this, in such a short period of time," he said. "I mean we've seen a year's worth of suicide attempts in the last four weeks."

Some people stupidly think because they have not seen that many cases that lockdown measures were unnecessary. Brazil is pretty much doing nothing, watch what happens there in the next few weeks.

His colleague, Kacey Hansen — a trauma nurse at the hospital for 33 years — says the focus on treating COVID-19 has also meant they have not able to save as many suicide patients as usual.

I cant say the lockdown was a total mistake

the scene in Italy was pretty shocking with patients being left to die in hallways for lack of medical services

we certainly didnt want that to happen here

but I think that danger passed about a month ago

Watching just how fatally stupid people seem to be with social gatherings we are going to be chasing serious outbreaks for a quite a while. My county locked down hard and only had a couple of imported cases but now the tourists have invaded in a big way. Rode around yesterday looking at all the out of state tags. Every place is rented out and the RV parks are full. Masks seemed to be a rarity. This thing is about to fuck us up.

Yeah but outside of extreme cases, the common flu isn't going to kill people or have a chance of medically handicapping them for life. This isn't the flu. Opening up and going back out wouldn't be as big of a deal if people could just be counted upon to do the right thing like socially distance or wear a mask. But I've given up on people being able to exercise common sense. What's coming is inevitable. How bad it gets will determine what action will be taken if any.

This does make my head explode. Why? What's so bad about staying home?

For one, it gets boring. One needs to go out and do something. Maybe one needs to quit focusing so much on themselves.

OTOH, it could lead to mass suicide like with a Jim Jones like cult. Or with political/social/religious ramifications like Waco siege. Now we have those return to normalcy groups who are threatening to kill people.

The “common flu” kills a lot of people and it isn’t extreme cases. Every year thousands die from the flu.

covid-19 is not that different. The elderly and sickly are most impacted, just like the “common flu.”

It is claimed 98% of people who get covid-19 recover completely. Who are these people you claim are medically handicapped?

You can chose to live your life afraid. I’m not. And you can shove that mask right up your ass.

Not living life afraid. Just being cautious for the moment. And being courteous and respectful to other people. Something I know escapes you covidiots.
That's why I don't feel an ounce of sympathy when people like you get their asses kicked out of stores or publicly shamed.
You get a kick out of walking around acting like a asshat, I'm not going to speak up for you if you get that ass handed to you.

Your 98% claim of recovery is just that...a claim. No basis in fact. There's also evidence that the effects can manifest themselves in other health issues later on. It's too early in the data collection process to make blanket claims.

You don’t know shit. A mask does nothing and likely harms the user.

You have an immune system. USE IT.

You can chose to believe the worst case.

You’re the asshat. Wearing that stupid mask.

More and more data coming in is leaning towards this actually being closer to a bad flu than the really bad flu (Spanish Flu of 1918-1920).

The first few weeks were reacting to the worst case scenario, but that never played out. Now governments that seemed OK to shut down entire economic sectors when they had the virus to blame can't or won't reopen those sectors because they probably think they will be blamed for any resurgence.

Guess what? There will be one, probably small, that we will have to deal with unless we decide to create a new depression while waiting for a vaccine.

The common flu has a pretty healthy mortality rate for the same people with the highest mortality rate for COVID.

It is not just suicides on the rise. Child and spousal abuse, alcoholism, drug overdose are all on the rise.
Deaths from heart attacks, cancer and others are on the rise because people are so afraid of getting the virus they refuse to go to the hospital or emergency room.

Terrible thought when you have been so frightened by the media that you would rather risk surviving a heart attack then go to an emergency room because of the virus.

No, it's not like the flu. Spreads easier and faster. And as far as shutting down/starting up, if people could be trusted to do the right thing, it wouldn't be an issue.
How does the new coronavirus compare with the flu?

That is still debatable, and each new round of information leads us to thinking it is closer to a bad flu than closer to say SARS, MERS, or the 1918 bug.

Your ilk only consider the worst information possible because politically you see this as a weapon.

Certainly there are those who are using the virus for political means, but many aren’t. These people are truly living in fear and have accepted the propaganda from the media. They really believe wearing a mask is proper and all who don’t deserve scorn.

I’m afraid these idiots will permanently change our culture.
