The first part is understanding what is climate and what is weather. Climate is the parameters of Earth that allow certain ranges of weather. We don't get Cat 10 canes now, but we would if Earth had no ice.

What are the parameters of climate that can change?

Ocean levels
Atmospheric thickness
Temperature
Humidity


What controls those?

The amount of ice on the planet. Period. Ocean level is 100% inversely correlated to Earth ice content (on land, not sea ice, which is pathetically small) - duh. Trapped in ice age glacier is compressed gas. When it snows 10 feet, you can compress...

What was North American Ice Age before 2010 is now spun into a series of rapid "ice ages" where it took a mere 75k years for the "ice age" to start in Northern Canada and put 2.5 mile thick glaicers on Chicago. This is "Milankovich"...

The map is clear. 7% of Earth ice is on Greenland.

Why is there ice on Greenland south of the Arctic Circle, and no ice north of the Arctic Circle on Alaska?

Co2 and sun do not explain this.

The only explanation is the Greenland is within 600 miles of the pole at the top, and hence is in ICE AGE while all the rest of the land outside of 600 miles is not.

Ice ages are continent specific, and land moves = 99% of Earth climate change right there.

We know that Antarctica has 70 million year old dinosaur fossils, and clearly they did not live on top of 2+ mile thick ice at -60F...

This is where the climate debate is now stuck.

Every piece of land within 600 miles of a pole is in ice age, everything outside of that is not. Nobody has attempted to dispute that. It is the clear truth of Earth today.

Milankovitch Cycles, which I call McBullshit Cycles, take a very "Dennis Quaid" approach to ice ages - they are lightning fast, quick, and agile. They come and go really fast.

Since 2010, Milankovitch has replaced "North American Ice Age" with the claim that the ice on Chicago recently that was 2.5 miles thick was only 75k years old.

The planet - oceans and atmosphere - has warmed after the end of every glacial period for the past 3 million years. Our present temperature is 2C cooler than the previous interglacial periods. How is the present temperature out of the norm?

Let’s put this in its proper context.

For the past 3 million years the climate of the planet has been dominated by the northern hemisphere.

When the northern hemisphere glaciates, the oceans and atmosphere cool. When the northern hemisphere deglaciates - like it is doing today - the oceans and atmosphere warm.

The reason for this is that the north pole has a lower temperature threshold for glaciation than the south pole because the south pole has a continent parked over it while the north pole is thermally isolated from warm marine currents by surrounding lands.

You can see with your own eyes the different temperature threshold for glaciation for the poles in the oxygen isotope curve which is the temperature record for the planet.

So for the past 15 million years or so, the south pole has had a continuous ice cap. And for the past 3 million years the north pole has oscillated between having an ice cap and not having an ice cap.

The reason why the northern hemisphere effects global temperatures is because there are surrounding lands where glaciation can spread. Whereas the land sitting over the south pole is surrounded by ocean so glaciation cannot spread like it does in the north. So southern hemisphere glaciation is moderated by the ocean whereas northern hemisphere glaciation isn't.

So why has the northern hemisphere cycled between glaciating and deglaciating? Thermohaline circulation. When heat transport from the Atlantic to the Arctic gets disrupted, the northern hemisphere glaciates. And when heat is transported from the Atlantic to the Arctic - like it is doing today - the northern hemisphere deglaciates.
