I raised two boys as a single parent and I can tell you that you have to keep them busy in areas that will benefit them and not drugs and alcoholism from a lack of involvement.
As far as wages mine went down with health issues but wages have increased all through my last 35 years.

We could start by taking the tax benefits for sending our jobs to other nations. Pelosi passed legislation the first time she was Speaker that would have done just that. She included tax benefits for bringing the jobs back here. It passed the democratic controlled House easily. They sent it to the Senate where the republicans filibustered it and killed it.

We could go farther. Put penalties on companies for sending our jobs to other nations. Using the revenues to create new jobs in manufacturing or paying down the national debt.

So far the companies have only gotten very big benefits and filthy rich off of it all. They haven't seen any negatives or bad consequences for it. There's nothing to discourage them from doing it.

Maybe if we start where the problem starts it would be a good way to solve the problem. Instead of giving big business riches for moving we should at least remove the tax benefits for doing it.

Everything else that has been tried has not worked. Why keep doing what has proven to not work? Why not try something different that has a good chance to work?
