This is a common claim among anti-gun organization – the AR15 / 'assault weapons' are the “weapon of choice” for mass shooters.
The AR-15 is the Weapon of Choice for Mass Shooters. It’s Time to Reinstate the Bipartisan Congressional Assault Weapons Ban.

Year to date (8-9-2024)
339 shootings (on track for 559)
351 killed (on track for 579)
39.2% shootings with 0 deaths
34.8% shootings with 1 death

0 mass shootings with an ‘assault weapon’.
0 mass shootings with an AR15

Why do you anti-gun people let yourselves be lied to?
Why do you repeat the lies?

I think I started a thread by the exact same title over a year ago?
Since then I've come to not care a lick on what gun they use.

The shooters in America will need to make their own choice on how efficient they are with their personal experience.

If they want the largest body count they will be trained to know that the AR-15 guarantees the best results.

Ask any good guy who is intending on becoming a bad guy. This forum has a couple who can say for certain.

The AR-15 is just another rifle and I own one. It is a very accurate weapon.

The AR-15 is the Devil's Spawn. They must all be melted down in a forge then beaten into AK-47s. :SMILEW~130: :dunno: :scared1:

Wondering how many of those shootings and killings were done with an AR15. The media breathlessly screams for days on end when an AR15 was used in a shooting, but they don't say much or tell you when another weapon is used.

No Blaster, it's not known as a very accurate weapon, and in any case that's not necessary for American shooters, or shooters of Americans, depending on your priorities?

There's no end of ill informed dimwits on these boards, these posts demonstrate just how poorly informed some are.

It's not sniper rifle accurate, but an average shooter can do very well with quality ammo out to about 300m.
I would give a talented shooter of school children no better than 3 moa. Partly due to nerves but not a good start with poor accuracy for several reasons.

So odds aren't good at 300 with 9 inches.

You're welcome to reply to me and get answers booth, but keep it polite and civil or you get dumped.

According to FBI statistics, between 2007 and 2017:

Believe it or not, between 2007 and 2017, nearly 1,700 people were murdered with a knife or sharp object per year. That’s almost four times the number of people murdered by an assailant with any sort of rifle.
.

.
In any given year, for every person murdered with a rifle, there are 15 murdered with handguns, 1.7 with hands or fists, and 1.2 with blunt instruments. In fact, homicides with any sort of rifle represent a mere 3.2 percent of all homicides on average over the past decade.

Given that the FBI statistics pertain to all rifles, the homicide frequency of “assault-style” rifles like the AR-15 is necessarily lesser still, as such firearms compose a fraction of all the rifles used in crime.

With an average of 13,657 homicides per year during the 2007-2017 timeframe, about one-tenth of one percent of homicides were produced by mass shootings involving AR-15s.

According to a New York Times analysis, since 2007, at least “173 people have been killed in mass shootings in the United States involving AR-15s.”

That’s 173 over a span of a decade, with an average of 17 homicides per year. To put this in perspective, consider that at this rate it would take almost one-hundred years of mass shootings with AR-15s to produce the same number of homicide victims that knives and sharp objects produce in one year.

With an average of 13,657 homicides per year during the 2007-2017 timeframe, about one-tenth of one percent of homicides were produced by mass shootings involving AR-15s.

Argue with the FBI if you don't believe this.

Robert Card used an AR-15. That was less than a year ago.

Statistics show that when assault weapons are used in a mass shooting, six times as many people are shot.

Statistics show that when assault weapons are used in a mass shooting, six times as many people are shot.

The worst attack in the U.S. with an AR-15 was Las Vegas where he fired into a crowd of over 22,000 people and murdered 60 people…..60

A Muslim terrorist in Nice, France using a rental truck murdered 86 people and wounded 435…..

More people murdered with a rental truck than any gun in any mass public shooting in the U.S.

Trucks are far deadlier than AR-15 rifles so trucks must be banned

Knives as has been shown murder more people than all rifles so they too must be banned along with clubs and bare hands
