Let's just say for argument's sake that the figure of 339 shootings is correct. There are 26,000,000 owners of AR-15 style rifles. The percentage involved then would be .0013%. That's a long way from even 1%.

When a determined man determined to kill as many people as he could with a "knife" went on a killing spree, he killed 19 and injured 26. When a man with an "accelerant" was determined to kill as many people as he could, he successfully killed 36 people and injured 34. When a man with a truck filled with fertilizer and an improvised explosive device wanted to kill a lot of people, he successfully killed 168 people and injured 680.
Now that England has large numbers of Muslims there and the unarmed public is vulnerable, there is a "huge" increase of knifings throughout the nation.
Someone determined to kill lots of people doesn't need a rifle or handgun to rack up large numbers of casualties. Just the determination and access to a motor vehicle, knife or making an improvised explosive and improvised explosives are easy to make.
The number of people who own AR-15 style rifles is twenty six million, that's 26,000,000. They are almost all law-abiding citizens who enjoy their sport and are not a threat to you.
As to why there is a second amendment, it's to protect all of those other amendments and our freedoms that are part of it.

I think I started a thread by the exact same title over a year ago?
Since then I've come to not care a lick on what gun they use.

The shooters in America will need to make their own choice on how efficient they are with their personal experience.

If they want the largest body count they will be trained to know that the AR-15 guarantees the best results.

Ask any good guy who is intending on becoming a bad guy. This forum has a couple who can say for certain.
