One of the main issues I have with politicians AND the public is this:
Too many people look to government to fix the issues in each of our communities.
Therefore, opportunistic politicians make promises to fix those problems, we elect them, then sit on our collective asses and wait for them to do it. Which, of course, they never do.
The main issues I see in my community can only be fixed by the people in my community. Working together. Actually taking time to get involved. Working with kids. Getting more kids involved in sports, music, staying in school and graduating.
Come on people, this is OUR country and if we aren't happy with it that is out fault.
