Thanks Rick Scott...Florida voters wait 4 hours to vote

Well, if you miss the 7pm deadline, the polls will be open ALL FUCKING DAY come Tuesday.

They would have been open for early voting even longer except for the fact that Gov Scott cut early voting days.

You got one thing right: Republicans should be in charge. That way a budget will be passed; the deficit will be reduced; seniors on medicare will not have their funds removed for their healthcare by Obama

Except that Republicans always, ALWAYS run up the deficit when they're in charge (and then blame Democrats for the deficit when they're in charge), and Obama didn't steal any money from seniors, but Republicans would love to privatize SS and Medicare, which would cause seniors to pay more money. Other than that, you're totally right.

Has election day been cancelled in Florida?

Not allowing someone time off to vote is a violation of federal law so all those with crap jobs and crap bosses who don't let them have time off to vote should make their complaint and pick up their check.

There is no Federal Law requiring time off to vote.

You're bitching about wait times for voting when people in the NE are suffering while they wait for food and fuel?? Fuckingwhackjob.

Ran donations yesterday..and gave money to the red cross and aspca.

Things aren't perfect..but supplies are getting out to those who need them The government reaction has been great.

Long lines to vote..for no reason at all..is a national disgrace..and an abomination.

Florida has under manned polling offices..made them few and far between and introduced a 10 page ballot.

That's disgusting. And shows why states should not be involved in Federal Elections.
ok so should people at the local and State levels who fuck up.....should the President and the feds be blamed for their incompetence?..... AND the citizens themselves who act like assholes during a crisis?.......should Obama be blamed?....or should he just take the heat for the Feds fucking up?...

Yeah, those silly United States of America.

I voted earlier this week and I didn't have to wait at all.

I voted on Tuesday and it took about an hour and a half. Guess the difference is that you could go during the day when the rest of us were working. I heard the lines were short then.

But, at 5:00, they were long.

Which is why early voting needs to be expanded and not decreased. People in shit, low wage jobs don't usually have bosses that will let them take 2 hours off to vote. This is why cutting early voting disenfranchises the poor and minorities who have these crap jobs with crap bosses.

are you fucking aware that 16 states have NO early voting? Bitch!

my ballot was four pages.

The last time I voted was a local election and it was one page.

Last Presidential Election I voted in had 2 pages.

Personally..I don't see why we need to have polling stations. You should be able to cast your vote via the web if you want.

and you make no apology for lying I see.

A lie. It does not matter what bosses think. The law permits people to take time to vote.

10 pages or 1, if you know how to read, then getting through the ballot isn't difficult. If you can't read......well, blame the Democrats for supporting teacher wages over your eduction.

State laws vary for time off. It is NOT federal law and in many states it is not paid time off.

Polls are open from 7am to 9pm? Nobody gets a lunch break or can vote before or after their hourly scheduled 'low wage' job?

People in good high wage jobs usually work their asses off during polling hours.

What do you think? Polling places are right next door to where one works? With people waiting in line for hours to vote, one hour for lunch doesn't quite cut it. If someone works 8:00am-5:00pm with an hour for lunch.... you do the math.

I think if I wanted to vote bad enough I'd get my ass out of bed at 4am to make sure I'd be first in line.
Do the math? If someone gets off work at 5pm, they have up to 4 hours to get to the polls.
FWIW I live in Cali.

On the last day of early voting in Florida, eager voters, many with chairs and other provisions, lined up for hour-long waits at voting locations throughout South Florida.

Voters still standing in line before 7 p.m. Saturday will get a chance to vote, but the line will be cut off after that time, according to Carolina Lopez, the spokeswoman for the Miami-Dade Elections Department.

She told NBC 6 South Florida that the average wait time in the county is four hours long.
