Texas welcomes nuclear waste, but not children running from danger

debunked? My links from the "texas tribune" debunked? Besides, texas wants to send armed men to threaten children and they want to store dangerous nuclear material in their state. That's why texas papers report it.

Sheesh, these right wingers can't learn anything. Even from other right wingers. Knowledge simply doesn't "take". They don't know what they are supporting. They only know, they don't like it. What ever "it" is.

no you moron. Poor kids my ass. Texas doesn't want those disease and lice ridden kids in their state. Texas has loads of illegal to deal with as it is as do all the border states.

Those kids are here under a law thats directed at victims of sex trafficing. I'm sure those thousands who are here never even heard the words sex trafficing. They are here because they want to stay here at taxpayer expense.

For my money they can load em up and send them back to wherever the hell they came from.

Its not the taxpayers of america's respnsibility to take care of kids from another country and one has to wonder why a moron like you thinks it is.

93% of those children were vaccinated by the red cross. I've posted that before. Republicans don't believe in vaccination. They believe vaccination causes autism. It's part of their "war on science". The odds are much, much higher that it's the children of republicans who are diseased.

lol.

So? They are still here and we taxpayers will be forced to pony up to take care of em.

They are not the responsibility of the taxpayers of America. Kinda simple. Kinda sorta funny that you can't comprehend that.

First what dim bulb Dean refuses to acknowledge is that the people interviewed by the border patrol have stated they came here because they believed they would be allowed to stay once they got here not because their lives were threatened so they are not refugees. Where did you get the moronic idea Rick Perry putting the guard on the border was costing you anything? Unless you live here it's not costing you jack shit it would only cost those outside of the state if the President ordered them down here when the Governor does it the state pay the price save your money and buy a clue.

The TXNG isn't trained for this kind of work. This is symbolic grandstanding by Perry who hopes we'll all forget how stupid he looked in 2012 by 2016.

Let the guard worry about what they are or are not trained for as far as stupid goes he couldn't do worse than the current President who has proven behind a shadow of a doubt being educated and smart are not the same thing.

Nuclear Waste Storage on Texas Lawmakers' Agenda | The Texas Tribune

Texas, with its ample space and arid climate, could be an ideal home for the nationÂ’s nuclear waste, some observers say.

“You’ve got a large state with so much potential,” said Brian O’Connell, director of the Nuclear Waste Program for the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners from 1999 to 2013. “You’ve got lots of wide-open spaces.”

Since 2012, Waste Control Specialists in Andrews County, a company that was formally owned by the late Dallas billionaire Harold Simmons, has disposed of contaminated tools, building materials and protective clothing, among other items, from shuttered reactors and hospitals.

Perry Sending Guard Troops to the Border | The Texas Tribune

Absent a federal activation, Perry said he acted on his own, meaning that Texans will pick up the $12-million-a-month tab authorities say the deployment will cost.

That ongoing state police operation is estimated to cost about $5 million a month, so Texas could be spending $17 million or more per month for border security when the operation is in full swing. House Speaker Joe Straus, R-San Antonio, said the Legislature will mull how to pay for the increased border presence as costs continue to escalate.

The young immigrants generally turn themselves in to authorities and are later released pending adjudication in the courts, which sometimes takes years.

“We think that they will come to us and say please take us to a Border Patrol station,” Nichols said.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

So Rick Perry is sending the National Guard to be an "escort"? That's the plan?

In the meantime, Texas "glows" not long after business "explodes".

I must say, I really like the way those people think. I'm sure a radioactive Texas unfriendly to children in danger will "lure" lots and lots of skilled workers.

Chicago, Illinois, New York City, and San Francisco would be ideal spots for nuclear waste.

Nah, dumping that waste in YOUR back yard would be SO much better. Thanks in advance for doing your part in controlling waste.

If these children all made vow to vote Republican when they came of age, the OP would be demanding these kids be shackled and perp-marched back to where they came from.

We'll still keep drilling for oil and gas while you set on your perch and make snarky condescending remarks about people who are working 80-100 hours a week.

I think MaBella and Obama and every Democrat in Congress should haul a few home and LEAD by example...then you bleeding hearts like rdeanie can follow them you all "care so much"

but notice they treat them like nuclear waste and DUMP them on you taxpayers instead

Simple enough to understand: immigrants cost the state money, nuclear waste and things politicians support usually give money. It's always about money and nothing else.

No, you stupid ******. The ideal spot for nuclear waste is a gen 5 reactor, where it would be used as full, and the waste from that is very short lived isotopes. However, instead of approaching a problem as something to be solved, you idiotic 'Conservatives' only want to put blame or yap about people that are really superior to you.

You're projecting!

As far as the refugee children go, maybe we should start the CCC's up again, raise them there, and by the time the are adult, educated, and ambitious, you daughters and granddaughters would be competing to have them. You see, those that have already known real hardship tend to work very hard to avoid knowing it again. That is why so many first and second generation immigrants excel in school and economic competition. The only problem with this present batch for the most of you is that their skin is brown.

Why would they want to do that?!?! They know they don't NEED to work: they show up, claim "refugee" status, and simply go on welfare for the rest of their lives.

But as numerous sources, most notably The Texas Observer and the New Republic, have reported, the immigrants have more to fear from us than we do from them. The fact is, children from Guatemala, where health care is fully subsidized by the government, have a better chance of being vaccinated than kids in Texas, where one in six people is uninsured. The fact is, in Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala again, the vaccination rate for measles is 93%, compared to 92% in the U.S.

Vaccines and the Republican War on Science

Republicans were more likely to think vaccines were associated with autism, cancer, and heart disease

Berinsky compared those conspiratorial beliefs with another conspiracy theory, finding that people who are less trusting of the vaccine schedule are more likely to think President Obama wasnÂ’t born in the United States.

Let us see Texas wants to sore nuclear waste sounds like a 5000 year plan to get federal government money.

Then again if that was the case every blue state would have thrown their hat in the ring to do this..

Why would you say that?

The problem with folks like rdean that cry for those kids are the ones that have no intention of giving a DIME for their upkeep, nor their town overridden with them, nor his kids put at risk with their presence.

A bigger problem for people like rdean is the fact that they believe people are children until they are 26

I can't think of a better place to dump "nucular" waste.

As it is, some RWs are saying they swore to vote Dem. Lies of course, but that's what we've come to expect from the right.
