Texas welcomes nuclear waste, but not children running from danger

So we don't want to waste resources and taxpayer dollars going in for a period of time to help establish democracy in other countries, "nation build" as the left calls it. However, we are willing to throw taxpayer dollars to house ... feed ... educate ... give government assistance .. to support the children of other countries for as long as they want to stay here.

If Obama feels we as Americans should be "compassionate" and pick up the mantle of some humanitarian cause, why don't we drop them off at the front door of the White House? I am sure there is plenty of room there to house them. Let's allow this president the opportunity to lead by example for others to follow.

How long is a period of time? 10 years? More? How did that work out in Iraq? We gave them help whether they wanted it or not. Nice.

Look to all the poor that depend on their government to be their resource, over their own hard working efforts to provide for their OWN livelihood, I'm sure it's a lot less than 8 years in Iraq. To put it in another perspective that's 800 Billion taxpayer dollars in 8 years, compared to $820 Billion (as quoted by the CBO) on one stimulus bill. Even worse ... how much MORE has this failed "War On Poverty" cost taxpayers since that program was implemented? Yet we are willing ... even eager ... to take in even more government dependent leeches, on the backs of taxpayers, who aren't even FROM this country!

According to the Office of Refugee Resettlement 30,340 illegal children were secretly released to sponsors across the United States in the first six months of this year.

The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Refugee Resettlement, responding to numerous media inquiries, congressional probing, and demands from Governors across the nation has released a listing of how many unaccompanied illegal immigrant minors have been released to sponsors for all 50 states and US territories.

From the start of this year through July 7th 30,340 illegal immigrant minors, most crossing into the US along the Rio Grande valley in Texas from Central America, have been handed over to the custody of a parent, relative, or family friend already in the US.

More than 3,000 of these unaccompanied minors were sent to Florida, New York, and California each.

Maryland and Virgina each have over 2,000.

Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, and New Jersey each have more than 1,000 unaccompanied minors in the care of sponsors in those states.

Texas which has taken the brunt of the influx of nearly 60,000 unaccompanied minors since October of last year is also the leader when it comes to how many minors have been released to a sponsor with more than 4,000.

I'm guessing you are talking about Republicans. 240 counties doubled in food stamp usage from 2007 to 2011, 213 of those voted for Mitt Romney. Those are the leeches you are talking about.

And Republicans will continue to be leeches. They don't believe in education and even mock it. They call science a faith. What are they qualified for? What will their children be qualified for? You can't live on minimum wage. The states they live in need to lure workers from more productive states like California and New York. Their own people are either incapable, not smart enough or too lazy. Besides, they don't believe state governments should help their own citizens. Too much like socialism.

America has done far more for children than any country in the world, and it's now time to focus on our own children, our own people. We cannot continue to be the world's savior. It's time we showed other countries that we expect them to be responsible and take care of their own children. We must send out the message now that if you come here, you don't automatically become a citizen.
If we did what you heart bleeders wanted to do, just think of the message that would be sent out. We would be flooded by the worlds refugees, who would then also believe that as long as they made it to our border, they would be granted citizenship.
