Texas welcomes nuclear waste, but not children running from danger

I must say, I really like the way those people think. I'm sure a radioactive Texas unfriendly to children in danger will "lure" lots and lots of skilled workers.

And liberals have proven themselves to be extreme hypocrits when it comes to the environment. Suddenly overpopulation and spotted owls are no longer issues liberals care about -- the thought of importing the third world with it's extreme birth rates and government dependency has the liberals tossing out any concern for the environment.

You know what I have noticed besides the fact no liberal has accepted my idea of having Texas ship the illegals who they are so concerned about to their home state that bastion of liberalism Hollywood has been strangely silent on the border crisis. I'm having a hard time figuring this out you have what we are being told by some are poor starving endangered children forced to flee their home country to save there very lives normally this is the kind of story Hollywood celebrities can't get in the middle of with a camera crew fast enough or go on every talk show and discuss and of course have the benefit concert carried on basically every cable channel but not this time. So any ideas why?

The problem with folks like rdean that cry for those kids are the ones that have no intention of giving a DIME for their upkeep, nor their town overridden with them, nor his kids put at risk with their presence.

Too late.

Anyone who pays taxes, including actual illegals, is also paying for the Rs refusal to do their job. The Rs are using child refugees as political footballs and its shameful.

So you are for a flat nation wide sale tax vs income tax?

Does RD ever stop lying?

Please post proof that they're "lies".

As to the OP, Texasss is the perfect place for a national dump and sending the Natl Guard is the move of an impotent fool. They can't actually do anything but stand around and it will cost the rest of us more than a $million a week.

He's running for prez again and this is the best he can do.

Bad.

Typical far left mentality, "Prove me wrong"..

So is that why you far left posters insist posting debunked material over and over again?

First what dim bulb Dean refuses to acknowledge is that the people interviewed by the border patrol have stated they came here because they believed they would be allowed to stay once they got here not because their lives were threatened so they are not refugees. Where did you get the moronic idea Rick Perry putting the guard on the border was costing you anything? Unless you live here it's not costing you jack shit it would only cost those outside of the state if the President ordered them down here when the Governor does it the state pay the price save your money and buy a clue.

Actually National Guard under State control can do things they can't do under federal control, including law enforcement functions

Nuclear Waste Storage on Texas Lawmakers' Agenda | The Texas Tribune

Texas, with its ample space and arid climate, could be an ideal home for the nationÂ’s nuclear waste, some observers say.

“You’ve got a large state with so much potential,” said Brian O’Connell, director of the Nuclear Waste Program for the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners from 1999 to 2013. “You’ve got lots of wide-open spaces.”

Since 2012, Waste Control Specialists in Andrews County, a company that was formally owned by the late Dallas billionaire Harold Simmons, has disposed of contaminated tools, building materials and protective clothing, among other items, from shuttered reactors and hospitals.

Perry Sending Guard Troops to the Border | The Texas Tribune

Absent a federal activation, Perry said he acted on his own, meaning that Texans will pick up the $12-million-a-month tab authorities say the deployment will cost.

That ongoing state police operation is estimated to cost about $5 million a month, so Texas could be spending $17 million or more per month for border security when the operation is in full swing. House Speaker Joe Straus, R-San Antonio, said the Legislature will mull how to pay for the increased border presence as costs continue to escalate.

The young immigrants generally turn themselves in to authorities and are later released pending adjudication in the courts, which sometimes takes years.

“We think that they will come to us and say please take us to a Border Patrol station,” Nichols said.

So Rick Perry is sending the National Guard to be an "escort"? That's the plan?

In the meantime, Texas "glows" not long after business "explodes".

I must say, I really like the way those people think. I'm sure a radioactive Texas unfriendly to children in danger will "lure" lots and lots of skilled workers.

Chicago, Illinois, New York City, and San Francisco would be ideal spots for nuclear waste.

Except that it's Texas that actually WANTS the nuclear waste.

Debunked? My links from the "Texas Tribune" debunked? Besides, Texas wants to send armed men to threaten children and they want to store dangerous nuclear material in their state. That's why Texas papers report it.

Sheesh, these right wingers can't learn anything. Even from other right wingers. Knowledge simply doesn't "take". They don't know what they are supporting. They only know, they don't like it. What ever "it" is.

But someone brought up a good question.....what exactly is the NG going to do with those they catch crossing the border? Push them back, arrest them, turn them over to whomever to go through the procedures already in place, shoot them? What can they do..and what are they allowed to do?

Personally, when it comes to our borders, I'm in favor of land mines. After a few explosions, the rush to cross the border will end.

No, you stupid ******. The ideal spot for nuclear waste is a gen 5 reactor, where it would be used as full, and the waste from that is very short lived isotopes. However, instead of approaching a problem as something to be solved, you idiotic 'Conservatives' only want to put blame or yap about people that are really superior to you.

As far as the refugee children go, maybe we should start the CCC's up again, raise them there, and by the time the are adult, educated, and ambitious, you daughters and granddaughters would be competing to have them. You see, those that have already known real hardship tend to work very hard to avoid knowing it again. That is why so many first and second generation immigrants excel in school and economic competition. The only problem with this present batch for the most of you is that their skin is brown.

No you moron. Poor kids my ass. Texas doesn't want those disease and lice ridden kids in their State. Texas has loads of illegal to deal with as it is as do all the border States.

Those kids are here under a law thats directed at victims of sex trafficing. I'm sure those thousands who are here never even heard the words sex trafficing. They are here because they want to stay here at taxpayer expense.

For my money they can load em up and send them back to wherever the hell they came from.

Its not the taxpayers of America's respnsibility to take care of kids from another country and one has to wonder why a moron like you thinks it is.

The TXNG isn't trained for this kind of work. This is symbolic grandstanding by Perry who hopes we'll all forget how stupid he looked in 2012 by 2016.

They aren't children. They aren't running from danger. They are bringing danger. Spreading danger.

Terrified of little children. Pathetic.

So....how many rooms did you build on to your house cuz you are going to sponsor/adopt a few to show your support to their cause?

Or how much room is RD going to devote to the storage of nuclear material used to generate the electricity he uses?

The sad thing about this story is that the US had a nuclear waste repository all set to go until Obama killed it as a political favor to Reid. There will be hell to pay in the future I am sure because of Obama's decision. I really think it was one of his worse decisions he made.

That was from your link. Was that the point?

We don't have to worry about nuclear waste. Texas wants it. Problem solved.

93% of those children were vaccinated by the Red Cross. I've posted that before. Republicans don't believe in vaccination. They believe vaccination causes autism. It's part of their "war on science". The odds are much, much higher that it's the children of Republicans who are diseased.
