My sister called this morning, and she lives 90 miles away. Said there is a huge storm coming in, that I should not drive to visit a friend in a special rehab facility for lung rehabilitation. I looked it up, and sure enough there's a late winter warning from Dallas to Galveston, and the red area took up almost half the state all at the same time. It's supposed to have supercell written on it. So if you live anywhere from Corpus to the Louisiana border, batten down the hatches! Avoid unnecessary travel. Love, beautress.

Here's an artist's view of a Texas tornado:

Tornados have no compunction about hitting farmhouses, lakes, or
city high rises. My farmhouse was in the eye of a small furor a few
years back. My husband had just passed away, and I was alone.
It destroyed the screens front and back and I saw stuff flying
from north to south outfront, and from south to north out back.
I just prayed the whole time. My neighbor's beautiful home had
its roof torn off. He had about 4,000 sq. ft. on one level. So please,
If you live in its wake, batten down the hatches, lock windows,
and secure doors if you live from central Texas to the River Sabine,
you check the weather on tv, whether you might be in harm's way,
so do all you can to be safe. I still can't open windows in hot
weather because I'm not much of a 2-story handyman. :rolleyes-41:

Edit: one regional map: (the one half an hour ago had red as described above,
and covered the orange areas all the way out to the Gulf of Mexico.

Out here in Hill Country praying for you.

Looks like OK and ARK will get the worst of it; we got til around 4 pm here to get stuff done. Map doesn't go past 4 pm so it could be worse, don't know yet. Glad I got the front field mowed, anyway. Rained this morning so didn't do the back, which looks like it grew a foot in two days. I live halfway dwon the east side of a ridge line so don't worry about tornadoes and flooding personally, but the high winds can still get bad around us.

North Texas has bad spring weather with thunderstorms and tornados.

Yes. Warm ocean air and humidity meets arctic cold air with nothing to stop it coming down across the Great Plains and the Rocky Mtns. sending it our way. I wish the state govt. would require CAli transplants to have live videos so we can watch the panic and terror in real time when they get their first experience with North Texas weather. This time of year is when you need three separate sets of clothes in a day from the weather changes from heat to cold.
