Two brothers have been arrested for beating their stepfather to death after he allegedly abused their half-sister, police believe.

The Pharr Police Department, Texas, said Alexandro and Christian Trevino, aged 18 and 17 respectively, beat 42-year-old Gabriel Quintanilla and left him for dead. A third person, Juan Eduardo Melendez, aged 18, was also arrested for involvement in the crime.

I've been told by my LEO friends that in predominantly Hispanic areas they are sorta 'self-policing' when it comes to that type of thing....If they are not killed outright and 'disappeared' then they are beaten severely and 'exiled'. Vigilante justice is rife with mistakes but that's the kind of situation that intentional lawlessness causes. Blame it on the politicians that let this scum back out on the streets or refuses to prosecute at all.

He got the correct punishment. All too often the life of an abused child from a paedo is lost, so in my book, paedo's should lose theirs too, which he has. Result.

We can't treat a paedophile, it's like trying to treart a str8 person not to be str8 and a gay not to be gay. But a paedo has a choice not to act on it.

People always do that. I doubt many people even understand the difference between a charge and a conviction. These guys killed somebody over an alleged activity. People that care about law and order should want this to be investigated.

If it was in the moment and they witnessed it directly or her screaming for help, at worst they will get to plea down to something with some minimal jailtime.

If it was any amount of time afterwards, then they are toast.

He probably deserved it. I still think there should be a thorough investigation and that the two guys involved should be made to understand that this isn't how we do justice in United States. Beating people to death with no trial is how the ancients did things.
