Forget for the moment that she really did this to herself by going on a radical diet and she was probably brain-dead when she got there. Then he wanted to pull the plug when he got the money.

Her parents let themselves get tied in with the religious nuts and politicians who used this case to advance an agenda.

I disagree with the part about her parents. They LOVED her. She responded to them. They wanted to take her home and care for her until she died. I don't see anything wrong with that unless she had a living will that specified she wanted them to pull the plug.
