Ted Cruz has done a great job ever since being elected.
...
what exactly has he done that is in the job description?
note: this should be entertaining.
He did many great things as Texas Soliciter General, here are just some,
Cruz has authored more than 80 United States Supreme Court briefs and presented 43 oral arguments, including nine before the United States Supreme Court. Cruz's record of having argued before the Supreme Court nine times is more than any practicing lawyer in Texas or any current member of Congress.
In the landmark case of District of Columbia v. Heller, Cruz drafted the amicus brief signed by attorneys general of 31 states, which said that the D.C. handgun ban should be struck down as infringing upon the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. Cruz also presented oral argument for the amici states in the companion case to Heller before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
In addition to his victory in Heller, Cruz has successfully defended the constitutionality of Ten Commandments monument on the Texas State Capitol grounds before the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court, winning 5-4 in Van Orden v. Perry.
Cruz authored a U.S. Supreme Court brief for all 50 states successfully defending the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools, winning 9-0 in Elk Grove Unified School District v. Newdow.
Cruz served as lead counsel for the state and successfully defended the multiple litigation challenges to the 2003 Texas congressional redistricting plan in state and federal district courts and before the U.S. Supreme Court, winning 5-4 in League of United Latin American Citizens v. Perry.
Cruz also successfully defended, in Medellin v. Texas, the State of Texas against an attempt by the International Court of Justice to re-open the criminal convictions of 51 murderers on death row throughout the United States.
Cruz has been named by American Lawyer magazine as one of the 50 Best Litigators under 45 in America by The National Law Journal as one of the 50 Most Influential Minority Lawyers in America, and by Texas Lawyer as one of the 25 Greatest Texas Lawyers of the Past Quarter Century.
It is pretty obvious why he made an ass out of Dickhead Durbin when challenged during the filibuster. John McCain and Chuck Schumer were too big of cowards to confront him while on the floor, they waited until after cuz they new Cruz would hand their asses to them.
He's been part of a successful filibuster of the Manchin-Toomey amendment, not afraid to oppose same sex marriage, unapologetic in his pro-life view, not afraid to take on members in his own party. His dedication to opposition of Obamacare and organizing ad campaigns to get more people to oppose it has been a success. Cruz has put pro Obamacare Dems and Repubs in the spotlight which will be catastrophic for them in 2014. He has been a big part in waking up Americans that there's something wrong in DC and in both parties.
Anyone who makes enemies of John McCain, George W. Bush, Daine Feinstein, the Democrats, establishment Republicans, the media and even has establishment backstabbing Republicans handing Chris Wallace and others opposition research on Cruz......the man must be doing something great, like looking out for America and having enough of corrupt, inside the beltway politics.
Cruz is highly intelligent and calculating, he has a proven record. The best is yet to come from him. The command, attention and shaking things up the way he has in less than a year in the senate...he's been great. There is a real good reason why all these America-haters are ganging up on him, they know his high intelligence, his past great accomplishments, they don't want to see him continue that greatness. They don't want to see business as usual, wink-wink, nod-nod in DC be disrupted.
